Suwon bakery café with whole wheat carrot pound cake: Caffeine Focus

Caffeine Focus is a three-story bakery café in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, where you can look out at the Hwaseong Fortress wall while eating sourdough ciabatta baked on site. On a weekday afternoon the plain ciabatta and Basque cheesecake were already sold out, so the order was choco fig ciabatta, olive cheese ciabatta, whole wheat carrot pound cake and an iced americano. Both the view and the bread at Caffeine Focus were satisfying, but come in the morning if you have a popular menu item in mind.

Pyeongtaek café with a kids' wading stream and brunch for two: Sisup

Sisup is a large garden café on Hyeondeok-ro in Hyeondeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, combining a lawn and an artificial stream with outdoor benches and a glass-walled indoor room. The signature Sisup Brunch for Two with two coffees arrived as a hotel-breakfast-style spread, and the coffee beat expectations, with the latte the standout. Sisup is open weekends only for now, 10:30–19:00, so pair the visit with a walk at nearby Sopung Park for a family outing or a date.
