Pyeongtaek café with a kids' wading stream and brunch for two: Sisup

I was scouting big Pyeongtaek cafés for a day trip and found Sisup. With its wide-open view and outdoor benches, it looked like the kind of place you could just relax in for a while!

Sisup parking and when to go — weekends only

Sisup has a spacious lot out front, and the moment you get out of the car you see cool green mountains. Proper healing vibes. It only opens on weekends, so you'll have to plan around that. I went at 11 a.m. and there were already quite a few cars parked.

Lawn garden and parasol benches: why Sisup works with kids

A wide garden, an artificial stream, and that big-café atmosphere all come together here. There are lots of benches scattered around the garden, and the parasols make it even better. There are also plenty of private little corners, and since kids can run around on the lawn, it's a spot a lot of families come to.

There are private bench areas, so it's great for families to come hang out! Lots of couples too, and with nice weather it looked even prettier. I ended up staying indoors the whole time, but honestly, when the weather's good, the outdoor seats here are the way to go!

All the terrace seats have shade sails, but honestly it looked even nicer just sitting out in the garden. There's a spot out front where you can wade in, so a lot of kids were playing there. That's why I saw so many families with children.

It says wading only! Kids love water play, so for a family outing I don't think there's a better Pyeongtaek café than this.

Inside Sisup — floor-to-ceiling windows and wood interiors

Inside, Sisup is full of greenery everywhere and has a wood interior that feels cozy. It's calm and pairs nicely with the view outside.

The trees swaying outside the big windows were so pretty I had to take a photo. It looks like people come here for snap photography quite a bit too.

On a nice day, you really have to come out here. It's the kind of place that's pretty even if you do nothing but stare at the sky. I meant to read a book, but the seats weren't great for that, so I just zoned out for a while haha.

The indoor space is really pretty too, thanks to the big windows. Just sitting still with that cool view feels healing. Everyone seems to come here for brunch, so ordering at least one brunch is basically a must.

Sisup menu and what comes in the Brunch for Two

The Sisup Brunch for Two is the signature menu item. It's a two-person portion, so we ordered just this one plus two coffees. There's a whole range of menu items — croffle, six-clove garlic bread, scones, garaetteok (rice cake), and paninis. The red bean patbingsu looked good too since it uses domestic red beans, and I'm curious about the jambon-beurre since it uses Sogeumjip ham. I eat Sogeumjip ham sometimes because it's delicious, so I bet the jambon-beurre is good too if the bread holds up.

The brunch comes out in a hotel-breakfast style. Vivid, fresh-looking tomatoes, sautéed king oyster mushrooms, toast, sausage, bacon — an American breakfast style. Bread and fried egg can be added separately. The sautéed mushrooms were especially good, and the vegetables were clearly fresh, so the salad looked vibrant and green. Sometimes you see wilted salad greens at places, but here they were using fresh ingredients!

A little short on bread, but the Sisup coffee beat expectations

It comes out as a hearty full spread! The bread felt a bit lacking, but overall it felt fresh and healthy. If it's not enough, ordering an extra panini would fill you right up. And I wasn't expecting much from the coffee, but they seem to use good beans. The coffee was genuinely good. You have to try the coffee here — the latte especially is delicious.

Sisup opening hours

Due to internal circumstances, it's currently only open on weekends. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

I stopped by because I'd read that the restroom was pretty, and it really is. I wish my own bathroom had a view like this. It felt like a little getaway somewhere far, the view was that good. Even down to the restroom being pretty, it felt like staying at a private pension — a lovely space to rest in. Definitely try the brunch and coffee, especially the coffee!

What to do nearby — a walk at Pyeongtaek Sopung Park

After finishing brunch, I walked over to nearby Pyeongtaek Sopung Park. It's a relaxed park where you can also have a picnic.

It's bigger than it looks — a full loop takes about an hour. There's plenty of parking, and with all the trees, lots of people were seen spreading out picnic mats to rest. Sopung Park is a great Pyeongtaek picnic spot, and since fall weather doesn't last long, go visit soon! It was such a great course.

The lotus flowers in the pond are genuinely huge, and right now looks like the perfect time to see them. Eating brunch at Sisup in Pyeongtaek, then walking and lying down on a mat at Sopung Park — I'd recommend it as a Pyeongtaek date course too!
