Dana is a place I used to go to all the time, paying with my own money! I was craving Western food, so I went back to Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch (다나 동성로본점). Would it taste as good as before...? Here's my review!
Where is Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, and how is parking?
Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is a 5-minute walk from Exit 10 of Banwoldang Station, at 12-24 Dongseong-ro 2-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, on the 2nd floor. For parking, you'll need to use a nearby paid lot.
Just head up the stairs! It's right in the middle of Dongseong-ro, so it's very easy to get to.
Can you bring kids? High chairs, restroom and waiting
The restroom is inside the restaurant and there are high chairs, so it's good for coming with a child too!
You may have to wait at mealtimes. There was a waiting-list machine too!
Seating inside Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch (2nd and 3rd floors)
The inside is split into two spaces. First, the 2nd floor! There are three 4-person tables.
Go up the stairs and there's another space on the 3rd floor, with tables for 2 to 4 people. It's good for friends or a date! There are lots of tables, so I think it would work for group gatherings too.

What we ordered: signature steak set and Shanghai jjamppong pasta
This time we ordered the signature steak set for ₩43,000 (baked risotto + flap steak + a choice of one soda) and the Shanghai jjamppong pasta for ₩12,500.
Shanghai jjamppong pasta: spicy enough to cure a hangover
Dana's Shanghai jjamppong pasta is a fusion pasta with a spicy broth, made by stir-frying assorted seafood and vegetables in hot chili oil. They say all of Dana's pastas are cooked with sauces and broths made in-house from fresh ingredients.
Cooking starts as soon as you order, so the food arrives hot, and the portion is really big!! It had lots of seafood and a good spicy kick. I think it would make a great hangover pasta too.
Baked risotto, my favorite dish at Dana
Baked risotto is Dana's signature dish: risotto simmered in a spicy cream sauce, topped with cheese and baked in the oven for about 10 minutes, so the moisture cooks off and the top turns crispy with a dry texture.
It's my favorite thing at Dana. It's slightly spicy, and the cheese reins in the heat so the flavor is just right. Even with Western food, a rice dish is a must for Koreans, so please try this risotto... 🥹🥹
Flap steak: doneness and sides
Dana's flap steak is first cooked sous vide at low temperature, then seared with butter. You enjoy it with steak sauce, wasabi, whole-grain mustard and mashed potatoes however you like. Because it's cooked sous vide first, it's served medium and you can't choose the doneness.
When you order a steak, you can choose one side dish.

I chose french fries as my side! Mashed potatoes with whole-grain mustard, plus beef flap steak... how could that not be good,, It was really delicious haha
