I went to Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch (봄날헤어 수완점), a hair salon in the Suwan area of Gwangju, for a clinic setting perm and a medium layered cut. My old perm had almost completely fallen out and my hair had grown long, so it needed sorting out. I'd also cut my long hair myself once in the middle of all that, so the ends were uneven. Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch is on the ground floor of Suyeong Building, and with its big glass front and large sign I found it right away. There's plenty of parking too, so it was easy to come by car~

Inside, the shop was quite spacious and the seats were laid out with room to spare.

There's a separate rest area near the entrance, so anyone coming along with you would be comfortable too, haha

By the window there's a table and chairs where you can wait, and with the glass front it didn't feel stuffy at all.

Consultation: a medium layered cut with natural S-curls

Before the treatment I talked with the designer at the window seat and we settled on a clinic setting perm with a medium layered cut. I sat down first and described my hair's current state and the look I wanted in detail. She went through my face shape, hair type and even how I usually style it, one by one. What I wanted was natural S-curls with hair that slightly frames the face!

Shampoo and a cut that keeps the length

The shampoo area at Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch is separate from the seats, and the chair is roomy, so it was comfortable. Once the style was decided, we started with the shampoo. She did everything from scalp to hair ends, and I felt really refreshed afterward~

After the shampoo, looking at my hair again, the old perm was almost gone and the ends were uneven. I hadn't planned on a cut originally. When I said I didn't want to lose any more length, the designer kept the length as much as possible and only trimmed the uneven parts. She checked bit by bit as she cut, which I really liked, haha

The clinic setting perm process and how long it took

The clinic setting perm took about two and a half hours in total, from the cut through applying the perm solution to the setting. After the cut, she applied the perm solution carefully through my hair.

While I waited they brought me a cold drink, so I could relax in my seat.

I knew exactly what I wanted. S-curls flowing naturally~ and side hair that slightly frames the face so it looks a little covered. After she checked what I'd told her, the setting perm went ahead, and the whole thing took about two and a half hours.

The setting perm at Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch gave clear S-curls even when wet, and after blow-drying it was exactly the hair I wanted. When I saw myself after the perm and shampoo, the curls had come out so well that I liked it even before drying, haha

After drying, I checked the back and it was truly just the hair I'd wanted! The S-curls follow the medium layered line in tiers, so there's lively volume, and the side hair frames my face naturally.

From behind, the curls weren't bunched to one side and looked full and even all over~ Compared with before, when the perm had completely fallen out, my hair looked far neater. The length kept as much as possible, and the S-curls I wanted came out properly!
