Why I decided to cut my year-old grown-out perm into a bob

My hair, permed a year ago and just left to grow.

Time to cut it! It's hot and heavy, and I can't keep it like this... so I made up my mind to go for a full bob. I thought my days of wandering from salon to salon were over, but hunting for a place that does bob perms well, I'm a salon nomad again T_T

At 26do Hair Suseong Branch, you walk in and say "I have a reservation today," and they hand you the day's welcome tea along with a pre-visit checklist. You write down things like the perm you want and whether you can style your own hair.

A welcome tea, a first for me. I had looked up styles beforehand, but a short bob is nice, a shoulder-length bob is nice, a medium bob is nice, waves are nice, a C-curl is nice, a layered perm is nice... I showed up without being able to choose 😅

So under the perm I want, I wrote "bob perm" lol, just three words. And for whether I can style my hair: "clumsy hands" hahaha

The director in charge at 26do Hair Suseong Branch read my checklist and recommended candidates that are easy to style and balance my face shape. Right at my reservation time, the consultation began.

During the softening step of the SC curl perm, the director checked reeeeally carefully and seemed to add extra time too.

Filling the hair with moisture. This is where I started dozing off. It was my first time at this salon, so I was embarrassed and tried to stay awake, but the atmosphere was so relaxing that I must have drifted off without noticing. When I woke up, my hair was calm and smooth.

I went to the shampoo station a few times before the perm, kept my eyes wide open while they carefully set my bob length, then started dozing again once the curlers went in.

Wasn't the setting perm heat too hot?

With a setting perm, the heat can get hot, so I usually pay attention, and sometimes I've agonized over whether to say something and ended up sitting there uncomfortably. But the director at 26do Hair Suseong Branch carefully checked early on for any uncomfortable or hot spots, so there was not a single uncomfortable thing and I just fell asleep. Hehehe, I opened my eyes and it was going along nicely? lol

After a good nap, with a clear head as the curlers came out, I focused on the mirror again! Lots of customers had changed in the meantime, and it seems a lot of men come here too. The bob SC curl perm I got at 26do Hair Suseong Branch had a length I liked and the curls came out well. The moment when it's done and all that's left is drying, I'm always nervous. Mmm~~ pretty.
