Naju pork cutlet and cold jjolmyeon: Jinsim Wang Donkkaseu
In short
Jinsim Wang Donkkaseu Naju Innovation Branch is a pork cutlet restaurant in Naju, Gwangju, near KEPCO headquarters. I tried sweet-potato cheese pork cutlet, nabé pork cutlet, and the new cold jjolmyeon, and the tangy, chilled noodles worked nicely with the huge cutlets. A solid lunch spot when you want a generously portioned pork cutlet.

A king-size pork cutlet restaurant near Naju KEPCO headquarters

Jinsim Wang Donkkaseu Naju Innovation Branch is located near Naju KEPCO headquarters. There is a parking lot right beside the restaurant, so it was easy to park and visit. You can tell it is a pork cutlet specialty restaurant right from the front!
A spacious dining room, serving robot, and self-service bar

Once inside, the dining room was bigger than I expected! It had lots of tables and the feel of a Korean buffet restaurant, with enough room for plenty of people. It looks like groups are welcome, and they also do delivery~ It seemed like a nice place for a family meal or lunch with coworkers.

And a serving robot brings your order right to the table! 🤖 It diligently delivers each dish one by one.

There is also a self-service bar on one side, where you can comfortably help yourself to soup, guk (Korean soup), and any side dishes you need.
From king-size pork cutlet to nabé and cold jjolmyeon

At Jinsim Wang Donkkaseu, they sell not only king-size pork cutlet but also a variety of dishes including cheese pork cutlet and nabé. There are noodle and rice dishes too, such as jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles) and curry. I ordered several things to try the different options.
- Sweet-potato cheese pork cutlet
- Nabé pork cutlet
- Cold jjolmyeon (new menu item)

After ordering, I stopped by the self-service bar and found soup—something you cannot leave out at an old-school Western-style Korean pork cutlet restaurant! It was nice to serve myself as much warm soup as I wanted; it gave me that nostalgic old-school pork cutlet feeling, haha. Aprons, side dishes, and anything else you need are all set out nearby.
A great pairing of big cheese pork cutlet and refreshing cold jjolmyeon

First of all, the pork cutlet was truly huge, just as the name suggests. It filled the whole plate, so I think it would suit anyone looking for a generously portioned cutlet. The cutlet was fried crisp, and the sauce was not too strong, so even I, someone who likes to dip rather than have sauce poured over it, enjoyed it. As soon as I cut into it, cheese came stretching and flowing out—what a visual 🧀🤍 A satisfying menu choice for cheese lovers!

The nabé had a pleasantly spicy broth, which went well with the assorted vegetables and pork cutlet. The egg was soft and the cutlet was crisp—a flavor I think anyone would enjoy, haha. And what I was most curious about that day was the new cold jjolmyeon! Its tangy, chilled flavor paired nicely with the crisp pork cutlet, which can otherwise feel a little rich.
Another special plus at Jinsim Wang Donkkaseu! You do not have to eat the cutlet on its own—you can make a ssam (lettuce wrap) with lettuce and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), too! 🥬 Putting the cutlet in lettuce and adding ssamjang gave it a completely different feel from the pork cutlet I usually eat!

You can pack up any leftovers yourself, which was great—if the portions are too much to finish, you can take them home! Overall, the food was tasty, and it seems like an easy, reliable lunch spot 👏🏻
