A day out near Misa Rowing Park with my 10-month-old and my mom

The weather was lovely and I wanted a change of mood, so I headed out to a restaurant near Misa Rowing Park in Hanam with my 10-month-old little princess and my mom.

Day out at Bokkeriu near Misa Rowing Park

Hanam has so many places that come to mind, right? Out of all of them, I went to Bokkeriu, which is known as a family-gathering and date spot because the atmosphere is nice and the food is great.

It's my honest review of a healing meal with my mom after a long while, so let's get started!

Is Bokkeriu's parking easy even for beginner drivers?

On top of the parking lot inside the building, Bokkeriu has its own separate lot across the street, so there's no parking stress. That won me over from the very first impression.

You can use the lot in the building, but there's also a dedicated lot across the street, so even beginner drivers can park comfortably.

Flowers and plants greet you on the way to the 2nd-floor dining room

Enter through the left entrance of the parking lot and pretty flowers and plants welcome you on the 1st floor. After enjoying that freshness, I went up to the 2nd floor, where Bokkeriu's real charm began.

The moment you open the door, the warm wood-tone interior and the wide picture windows let in bright sunshine that feels fresh and stylish.

Even at 1 pm on a weekday, I could see why it's so famous as a Misa restaurant. Plenty of people were already enjoying their meals!

What the name Bokkeriu means

They say the name Bokkeriu blends the lively Boqueria market in Spain with the flow of the Rio River. The space has the same kind of liveliness and ease as the name.

Is Bokkeriu okay to visit with a baby?

Tables at Bokkeriu are spaced generously and there are high chairs, so eating with a 10-month-old was comfortable. It suits gatherings, anniversaries and precious family time. With green plants placed all around, it felt like a garden in the middle of the city, and it was a good place to talk.

Sitting by the window, I could take in the outdoor garden and the Misa scenery at a glance, and it felt so refreshing.

Even the way to the restroom was neat and tastefully kept, so I felt well looked after the whole time. And since there are high chairs, it's a great space for moms with little ones.

Bokkeriu's steak set for 3: what's included and the price

The Bokkeriu steak set for 3 costs ₩156,000. We had decided on this menu from the moment we booked through Naver.

  • Sourdough and soup
  • Chef's choice salad
  • One pasta and one pizza of your choice
  • 300g Hanwoo (Korean beef) striploin steak
  • Homemade dessert
  • 3 drinks

Bread and kelp butter

The first thing out was the bread, warm and moist. The kelp butter served with it was impressive.

The richness of the butter plus the subtle savoriness of kelp made me keep reaching for more! It wasn't salty and had deep flavor, like a taste of what makes Bokkeriu special.

Corn soup and ricotta salad

The corn soup had a wonderful natural sweetness. It went down smoothly while still keeping the texture of the corn kernels, a perfect starter soup.

The ricotta cheese salad combined crunchy vegetables, nutty crunch and the mild ricotta, which seemed house-made, with a tangy balsamic dressing to make a healthy plate.

Shrimp bisque pasta

Piled with black tiger shrimp and arugula, it was overwhelming just to look at. The deep flavor from the shrimp heads and shells melted into the sauce, and every bite filled my mouth with savoriness..!

The bouncy shrimp and the slight bitterness of the arugula balanced each other, and I understood right away why this is a famous Misa restaurant.

Arugula house-made jambon-beurre pizza

The moment it hit the table, a faint smoky aroma tickled my nose and my expectations shot up before I even took a bite! Fresh from the wood-fired oven, the edges of the dough were puffed up appetizingly.

You could almost see the chewiness that wood-fired pizza is known for. As I carefully moved one slice to my plate, the dough was thin and moist in the middle, and the toppings and cheese looked ready to spill over...

Dipped generously in the ranch sauce that came with it, it was a real treat among treats. Even while I was busy feeding my 10-month-old her baby food, my mouth never stopped moving, haha

Hanwoo striploin steak, medium rare

The steak I ordered medium rare was truly perfect. With colorful garnishes like asparagus, purple onion, sweet pumpkin and mini bell peppers, the plating was so artistic it almost felt a shame to eat it.

It was full of juice, and the chew and nuttiness of the beef itself were excellent, so even my mom said it was delicious. Tasty food, a stylish atmosphere and friendly service: Bokkeriu lacked nothing.

I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed meal near Misa Rowing Park, in Misa, or around Starfield Hanam.

Eating the Bokkeriu steak set for 3

Above all, I had worried about going out with a 10-month-old, but thanks to the comfortable atmosphere, my mom, me and my baby all enjoyed a happy lunch date.
