These days, even if you want to keep taking care of your body, it's hard to find time to work out. So this time I wanted to try something a little different, and I went to try an EMS diet program in Yeongtong.

The place I visited is Xpa near Mangpo Station. The program I chose was the diet program, and I'll walk you through the order of the session and the convenient things I noticed while using it.

What do you do first when you arrive at Xpa?

When you arrive at Xpa, you change clothes and start with an InBody measurement (a body composition scan). They measure it first so you can check your current body condition before the session. InBody first, as soon as you walk in!

Choose your water temperature in advance: 40°C warm tub or 41°C hot tub

Xpa contacted me beforehand so I could choose between a 40°C warm tub and a 41°C hot tub. I picked the 40°C warm tub, and after the InBody measurement they got the session ready at the temperature I had chosen.

When I actually used it, the water temperature felt just right. It didn't feel too hot, so I could relax during the session, and I liked being able to pick my preferred temperature in advance.

The Xpa EMS diet program I chose in Yeongtong consisted of 10 minutes of body fat mode and 10 minutes of recovery mode. You go through the two modes in order, and the whole session took about 20 minutes.

Once you get into the water wearing the abdominal pad, adjust the intensity to suit each area!

They also prepared a cup of water to drink during the session. I sipped it little by little and before I knew it I had finished the whole cup. I liked that they take care of small details like this.

If the EMS feels too strong, press the bell to adjust the intensity

At Xpa, if the EMS stimulation feels too strong, you press the bell and a staff member comes to adjust the intensity. There were moments when it felt strong, and it was convenient that the intensity isn't just fixed. You can ask for help whenever it feels uncomfortable or too strong.

A staff member also came in once more to check when the session switched from body fat mode to recovery mode. First-timers can ask for an intensity adjustment whenever they need it, and with a check at the mode change too, the whole process felt much easier.

After a good, refreshing sweat, it felt really healing.

Showering after the session: what should you bring to Xpa?

The treatment room at Xpa has everything from toiletries to body lotion, so you only need to bring your usual skincare lotion. When you're done, drain the tub yourself and hang the abdominal pad and your clothes in the tub area. Then you can take a shower.

When you go for this kind of treatment, you usually wonder whether you need to pack shower products and body lotion too. At Xpa the basics are provided, so there's no need to carry a bunch of stuff.

Since you only need to bring a basic lotion, even the preparation was easy. I also liked that I could wash up and finish right after the session.

To keep up diet care regularly, I think the convenience before and after matters as much as the program itself. With not much to bring, it seemed easy to fit a visit into a busy day.

After the session: an InBody results consultation

After the shower at Xpa, I went over the InBody results measured at the start and got a general explanation of my body condition.

It's easy to only look at the number on the scale, so I liked being able to look at my current condition based on the InBody results. Dieting isn't just about losing weight; understanding your own body and keeping up with it matters too.

Measuring InBody before, then going over the results after finishing the whole program, made the overall process easy to understand.

Of course, how much weight or body fat changes from EMS alone can differ depending on your body and lifestyle habits. It's best to use it in a way that suits you, along with diet and everyday physical activity.

If you're looking for EMS in Yeongtong for dieting

  • The 10 minutes of body fat mode plus 10 minutes of recovery mode made the session simple.
  • It was handy that I could press the bell to adjust the intensity when it felt strong.
  • I liked the attentiveness: staff check again when the mode changes, and they prepare water to drink.
  • Everything from toiletries to body lotion is provided, so you only need to bring a basic lotion.

Xpa runs in order from the InBody measurement before the session to the program, shower and post-session results talk, so I think it's easy for first-time visitors to understand the process. If you're looking into EMS for dieting in Yeongtong, check the program setup and how to use it, and it may be worth asking whether it suits your body condition and goals.
