On a day when I was craving chicken and beer (chimaek), I headed to Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch (깐부치킨 남부터미널점), right outside Exit 1 of Nambu Bus Terminal Station. Kkanbu Chicken is such an old brand that it feels familiar, but I'd heard this branch has a real open-air pub vibe, so I went with high hopes. It's also a chicken brand that's gotten even hotter lately after Jensen Huang visited the Samseong branch.

Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch is at 42 Seochojungang-ro, Blue Fin Tower B109, 110, 111 (1st floor), Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea, a 1-minute walk from Exit 1 of Nambu Bus Terminal Station. It's open 15:00–02:00 (Sundays close at 01:00, last order 01:20).
Paid parking is available in the building. If you call the staff ahead of time, they'll apparently guide you to park at street level in front of the restaurant.
Atmosphere and the open-air terrace seating
The inside of the restaurant was spacious and clean. There are plenty of hall tables plus outdoor terrace seats, so it's a great spot for chicken and beer in a lively atmosphere.
Along with a wide draft beer lineup, they also have a good variety of other drinks like highballs.
The complimentary corn puffs (gangnaengi) that come out as a basic snack!!
How does Kkanbu Chicken's hot BBQ wings and drumettes taste?
I was in the mood for something spicy, so I ordered the hot BBQ wings and drumettes. The wings and drumettes were baked crispy, and the spicy BBQ sauce had soaked in nicely.
Juicy chicken and spicy seasoning make a great combination. The soft rice cakes (tteok) were great too!
Kirin vs Sapporo draft beer: what's the difference?
Chicken just needs ice-cold draft beer. I ordered both Kirin and Sapporo draft beer. They came in chilled glasses, and just looking at them felt refreshing.
The Kirin had a nice smooth finish, while the Sapporo was crisp yet pleasantly bitter. Together with the hot BBQ wings and drumettes, a perfect pairing.
Verdict: open-air chicken and beer at Nambu Terminal
Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch has tasty chicken, a variety of side dishes and good draft beer. Next time I'll have to try the crispy fried chicken.
