Where is Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong in Dongtan, and when does it open?

Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is on the 1st floor at 149 Nojak-ro, Dongtan-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open daily from 10:40 to 21:00, with last order at 20:20.

At Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch, cockle jjamppong and cockle jjamppong rice are ₩11,000, jajangmyeon is ₩8,000. Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) is ₩17,000 / ₩22,000 / ₩27,000, and fried dumplings are ₩6,000.

For jjamppong, you can pick your spice level (1 to 4), so if you love spicy food, this hits the spot perfectly~

What the dining room and self-serve corner are like on a weekend evening

Here's the dining hall at this Dongtan jjamppong spot, Bultina! We visited on a weekend evening and customers kept streaming in the whole time~ Clearly this place is already known as a hidden gem, hoho.

There are seats set up for solo diners, and the restaurant is overall spacious and clean, making for a comfortable meal ^_^

The side dishes are danmuji (pickled radish) and raw onion, and you can grab more from the self-serve corner if you run out~ If you need a small plate or scissors, you can also get them there~

Cockle jjamppong rice, 11,000 won: how many cockles do you get?

First up, cockle jjamppong rice (₩11,000). This dish is loaded with domestic cockles, and since every dish is cooked to order right when you order it, the wok-fired aroma and flavor really come through~

They pile in the ingredients generously like this, and the amount of cockles is especially overwhelming! They kept coming even by the time I finished the meal, so I kept sharing them with my husband haha.

Also, the jjamppong rice has a small amount of noodles mixed in for extra depth of flavor — which means you get to enjoy both jjamppong noodles and rice at the same time, which is honestly great! You get about two chopsticks' worth of the noodles to taste, then switch over to the rice — two birds, one stone, ㅋ_ㅋ

The rice comes served separately! True to a great Dongtan jjamppong spot, you can really taste the depth of the rich broth that comes from fresh ingredients the owner prepares every single morning~ There's so much in the broth that it fills you right up haha.

Large jajangmyeon, 9,000 won, eaten with chili flakes on top

Second dish: large jajangmyeon (₩9,000). For the large size, jajangmyeon adds ₩1,000 while jjamppong adds ₩2,000, haha.

As soon as the jajangmyeon arrived, that sweet-salty smell hit my nose right away.. my mouth just wouldn't stop watering ㅠ_ㅠ

Jajangmyeon, loved by everyone regardless of age~ mix it up well and dig in. Soft and sweet, it tastes even better since it's been a while~ Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch also has a kids' jajangmyeon for preschoolers, so it seems perfect for a family meal out!

Our style is sprinkling on red pepper flakes~ Anyone else here love doing that too, haha? Danmuji keeps things fresh and tangy, and the pepper flakes give it a spicy kick, so together they make the jajangmyeon taste even more varied and interesting.

Oh right, if you leave a Naver receipt review, you actually get 6 pieces of fried dumplings for free. You can't have jajangmyeon without fried dumplings~ Every table around us had a plate of them~ It's not hard to do, so definitely give it a try!!

Fresh out of the fryer, warm and crispy fried dumplings.. the smell is out of this world! The seasoning is just right too, so I bet even kids would love these!!
