In short
GRAY LAZY is a large café in Muan, Gwangju, where guests take a menu to their table and fill out an order sheet. I tried the black sesame latte, cream brownie ice cream, homemade pudding, and Marco Polo decaf tea. Verdict: a lovely place to end a meal with sweet desserts and refreshing tea.

Getting to GRAY LAZY in Muan and parking
Exterior

I visited GRAY LAZY, a café in Muan right next to Mokpo. Just head up to the second floor of the building with charcoal grilling and chicken feet! You can park along the street or at a nearby public parking lot~ I spotted one really close by, so that’s where I parked, haha.

Before heading up to the second floor, I saw a message and stopped to read it—and you could really feel the owner’s sincerity!

GRAY LAZY is a kids care zone. Pets are welcome, but dogs must be vaccinated and you need to follow proper café etiquette!

Inside the café

As soon as I came in, there was a menu board at the front. You take it to your table and write out an order sheet! I loved being able to choose at a leisurely pace, and I was impressed by the owner’s thoughtfulness.

Then take your completed order sheet and menu board to the counter~ Takeout drinks are 10% off, and they also sell churros gift sets~

Use the desserts displayed beside it as your guide~ I was curious about the Boni Chestnut Cake too, but chose the brownie and homemade pudding instead, haha.

They say people receive more flowers after they die than while they are alive. That is sad, so I offer you these flowers. Have a day full of flowers.

They also have pet cushions and other necessities ready!

The atmosphere at GRAY LAZY, a café in Namak, is so nice! It would be great for coming alone to read or study, and it was also perfect for meetings and conversations, haha.

What I ordered

Homemade pudding! Look at that wobbly homemade pudding, hahaha. Its texture was as soft and bouncy as it looked, and the syrup—or sauce?—on the pudding kind of tasted like the syrup in brown sugar bubble tea. Sweet and delicious, is what I mean! Haha.

How was the cream brownie ice cream?
The item that caught my eye first was the cream brownie ice cream. The brownie on its own was rich and dense, but with ice cream and whipped cream on top, the combination was seriously good!

The sweetness of the rich brownie, cold ice cream, and soft whipped cream all together made it a menu item dessert lovers would be satisfied with! The mix of a warm-feeling brownie and cold ice cream was fun too. Personally, I’d recommend ordering a dessert like this to share rather than having drinks only. If you visit as a group, it’s also a nice one to put in the middle and share.

A nutty black sesame latte
One of the menu items I was personally looking forward to was the black sesame latte! I love black sesame’s distinctive nutty, rich flavor, so whenever I see one on a café menu, I tend to order it. The nuttiness of the black sesame met the nuttiness of the milk, and it was totally my grandma-taste kind of drink ><!!

Iced Marco Polo decaf tea
Instead of coffee, I chose iced Marco Polo decaf tea. It was clean and refreshing to drink, so it went well with the sweet desserts too. A sip of tea while eating a sweet dessert like brownie made my mouth feel much fresher, so it was a great combination to order together~ If you’re looking for something other than coffee, I think this kind of tea menu is worth a look.

If you need more hot water to steep the tea, they kindly give you more, haha. And when you order it iced, it comes with one big ice cube—it felt like drinking whiskey, which was fun, hahaha.

If you want to spend some relaxed time after finding a good restaurant in Namak, or if you’re looking for an atmospheric café in Namak or Muan nearby, this would be a good one to visit~ Finishing a filling meal with a sweet dessert and a refreshing cup of tea is happiness itself~
