Seongdong café for reading and chocolate milk bowls: Eojil In

This is a café I’ve been to more than 20 times. I stop by briefly before plans or go there to read. It is right in front of Exit 6 at Wangsimni Station, so it is great when I need a sugar boost... haha.

1F–2F, 18 Majo-ro 9-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea (서울 성동구 마조로9길 18 1, 2층 어질 인) Every day, 9:00 AM–10:30 PM, with last orders at 10:00 PM! Parking is available. Since it is in a low-rise residential building, there is first-floor parking for up to two cars. The notice said that if it is full, you can park at the E-Mart next door.

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch atmosphere and seating

I have really been to Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch a lot. One nice thing is that the restroom does not smell and is fairly clean. Ah... it gets pretty busy on Fridays and Saturdays. Seats are often full. I think regulars like me have all had the experience of checking both floors, finding no seats, and leaving... haha.

There did not used to be a sign, but they put one up recently? Haha. I think they named Eojil In really well.

There are lots of books on the first floor~ I once read a book here and got really absorbed, which is what made me start coming back often. Sometimes the conversation noise can be loud, though, so headphones are a must then haha.

The lighting around the bakery desserts gives it a nice atmosphere.

Drinks and desserts I order when reading

Bakery desserts Basque cheesecake Financiers from ₩2,900~ Lemon madeleine, ₩3,500 Dojina roll (a milk roll), maybe ₩6,900.

Little Eojil In Bakery

A bakery called Little Eojil In opened~ They sell salt bread, jambon-beurre sandwiches, croissants, pain au chocolat, plain baguettes, and chocolate baguettes. Eojil In also brings in and sells bakery items made at Little Eojil In.

Just looking at these financiers and madeleines makes my mouth water. The lemon and Earl Grey ones are delicious.

This is my first time seeing the honey croissant. I need to go back and try it next time.

The pain au chocolat... was delicious.

The Matilda chocolate cake I debated getting that day because I was worried about gaining weight, then did not. It looked dense and sticky.

I do not really like classic financiers. I think I eat them for the flavors with something added on top, like chocolate or Earl Grey... haha.

If you buy a financier set, it can be wrapped in this cute, pretty packaging. If you get a Sweet Moment as a gift~

They gather together and sell the leftover bakery desserts from Little Eojil In.

The Basque cheesecake is seriously~ delicious.. haha. I have actually had it a lot, so I ordered something else that day. I was craving something milky, so I tried the Dojina roll. It was soft and moist, and I enjoyed it.

Pain au chocolat... As a chocolate lover, I have a habit of ordering something chocolatey, either a drink or a bakery item.

A smooth exterior. Layers and layers inside. Chocolate within.

I ordered the Dojina milk roll and a chocolate milk bowl. ((In the end, I was drawn to milky things and ordered two milk-milk items, then, true to a chocolate lover, doubled up on chocolate-chocolate too~))

If you are looking for an atmospheric café right by Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station where you can read and enjoy tasty bakery items, it is a good place to stop by. It was already one of my favorite cafés, and I think I will keep going often.
