Jeju City tea house with rich ice cream drinks: Dovana

A spacious new tea house in Jeju City

I heard Dovana (도바나) had opened a tea house in Jeju City, just 10 minutes from Jeju Airport, so I went to visit. I’d passed by and thought, “Whoa, a huge shop has appeared,” but it was a café!!! And a bakery café, which I love!!! Ding-dong, there was no way I could not come.

Such a huge parking lot in an area where parking is tough......... You are the best!!!! There was parking on the other side too, so it looked like around 10 cars could fit. Absolutely king-level awesome..

When I walked in, the interior was soooooo spacious. I loved it. Such an airy space, with plenty of room between the seats!! There were tons of tables everywhere too, so it seemed able to accommodate a big group.

Ordering Matcha Oreum, Hojicha Oreum, and pain suisse

What should we eat to earn a reputation for eating well... I agonized over it, then my friend ordered Matcha Oreum, I got Hojicha Oreum, and we added a pain suisse. The ones with ice cream are the Oreums~~ haha. They had royal milk tea too—I should try that next time.

After ordering, I looked around the shop and found all kinds of tea bags on display. It felt seriously professional~~~~~ I want to buy and try every single one, but,,,,, I have no money,,, hahaha. I’ll buy one each time I visit and try them!

Even brownies, which I love,.,,,,,, I considered getting one... but the pain suisse looked so delicious, so pain suisse it was!

The interior was decorated so beautifully. What a lovely tea house café.

A display case full of breads I absolutely love. There was an enormous variety of sogeumbbang (Korean salt bread). I want to work my way through every single one too.

There were all kinds of seats, but since we planned to use our tablets today, we chose a super cozy spot. Isn’t it just so nice ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ It’s an absolutely great space for chatting with a friend, having a meeting, or studying.

Oreum drinks with intensely rich ice cream

Eek,,,,,,,, finally, our pain suisse, Matcha Oreum, and Hojicha Oreum arrived.

Hojicha is tea made by roasting tea leaves or stems at high heat. During roasting, the leaves change from green to brown and develop their distinctive warm, nutty aroma.

I looked up what hojicha was, and yes, it was exactly what I thought: a warm, nutty hojicha latte.

One bite and,,,, wow,,,,,,,,,,, the ice cream was insane..... So rich and delicious ㅜㅜㅜ It blew Häagen-Dazs out of the water.. Honestly, seriously, the ice cream was way better than Häagen-Dazs green tea flavor..ㅜㅜㅜ I love you.

The Hojicha Oreum too ㅜㅜㅜ The ice cream was truly so delicious—an absolutely crazy-good flavor.

My friend and I ate while raving about how delicious the ice cream was. Hahahahahaha. I am definitely coming back; consider my regular-customer status reserved,,,,.

It made me happy to lazily hang out and chat in the afternoon.... We happily caught up on all the things we hadn’t talked about,, ate delicious things together,,, simply the best,,

Crispy pain suisse and a tea bag event

The pain suisse had custard cream and chocolate inside, so what more is there to say,,,,,,,,,, It was crispy and ridiculously delicious,,ㅜㅜㅜㅜ My mouth hurt ㅜㅜㅜ Seriously,,,
