In short
Forerest (포어레스트, FORAREST) is a large dessert café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, with its own spacious parking lot. Today I'm telling you about my visit to Forerest (포레스트, FORAREST), a cake spot in Uijeongbu with a great atmosphere, perfect for a drive-and-date outing.

What kind of café is Forerest in Uijeongbu?
Forerest is a large dessert café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, known for its roomy parking, pleasant interior and high-quality Basque cheesecake lineup. Lately I keep looking for big cafés where I can get away from everyday life and recharge. The name "Forest" already sounds like a rest in the woods, and thanks to the big parking lot, the comfortable interior and above all the impressive desserts, it turns out it already has a great reputation by word of mouth as an Uijeongbu cake spot and a big Uijeongbu café.

Is parking easy at Forerest?
Forerest has a wide dedicated parking lot, so it was easy to visit by car. As a big Uijeongbu café, it was very convenient to drive to. With so much parking space, I could relax without worrying about finding a spot. It's a perfect condition for a drive course or a date.

Forerest interior and menu
The inside of Forerest has a warm, modern feel, and the menu offers several signature Basque cheesecakes and premium drinks. The moment I walked in, the warm, modern mood put me at ease. Looking at the menu, true to its slogan "a rest from the everyday" (비일상의 휴식), it had a variety of signature Basque cheesecakes and premium drinks.

What I ordered that day
I ordered these four items at Forerest that day.
- Chocolate Basque cheesecake
- Black sesame Basque cheesecake
- Vanilla latte
- Lemongrass tea
There were so many cakes that I was tempted by the matcha and Earl Grey cheesecakes too, but this time I went with the chocolate and black sesame combo I was most curious about.

How does the chocolate Basque cheesecake taste?
Forerest's chocolate Basque cheesecake had the Basque style's signature smoky flavor with the sweetness of rich chocolate on top. The outside was chewy while the inside melted creamily in my mouth, which was impressive. It wasn't too dry or too sweet, with the nutty cheese and deep chocolate aroma in balance, so I enjoyed it to the last bite without getting tired of it.

How is the black sesame Basque cheesecake for a grandma-style palate?
If you have a "grandma palate" (할매입맛) like me, or just love nutty desserts, Forerest's black sesame Basque cheesecake will definitely satisfy you! The toasty black sesame aroma filling my mouth from the first bite was so appealing. The richness of the cheese and the nuttiness of the black sesame blended heavily together, and it felt like enjoying a high-end dessert. It had the deep flavor you'd expect from an Uijeongbu dessert spot.

Does the vanilla latte go with Basque cheesecake?
Forerest's vanilla latte had a soft, not artificial vanilla scent, and it went well with the heavy Basque cheesecake. You can't skip coffee with sweet desserts! The bitterness of the beans and the nuttiness of the milk blended harmoniously. It paired wonderfully with the rich Basque cheesecake.

A caffeine-free finish: organic lemongrass tea
Forerest's organic lemongrass tea is what I'd recommend if caffeine feels like too much or you want a clean finish after dessert. The fresh, subtle lemon scent tidied up my mouth, light and refreshing, which made it the best choice after heavy cheesecake.

What would I order next time?
Next time I'll definitely come back to try Forerest's Earl Grey or matcha Basque cheesecake. If you want a comfortable rest with tasty desserts, I wholeheartedly recommend Forerest in Uijeongbu!
