Gyeongsan Korean restaurant lunch specials: Bapeul Jitda
In short
Bapeul Jitda Gyeongsan Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, with private rooms and weekday lunch specials. Our family shared mulhoe, bibimbap, and a beef brisket and mushroom ttukbaegi set for 15,000–19,000 won. Verdict: a calm, flavorful pick for a family meal.

When you take your parents out for a meal, somehow you end up caring about everything—the atmosphere, the food, all of it. While looking around near Daegu, I found Bapeul Jitda Gyeongsan Main Branch (밥을짓다 경산본점), a Korean restaurant in Gyeongsan that felt just right for a family gathering.
It was featured on Oh Jeong-yeon's Oh! Good Day not long ago, and I immediately thought, I have to bring my parents here for a family meal. It is in Gyeongsan, just outside Daegu, so it was easy enough to drive over for a family meal. Afterward, it is also well located for a stop at Gyeongsan's famous Bangokji Pond, so I visited with my parents this time.
What are the parking lot and exterior like?

When eating out as a family, the food matters, of course, but convenient parking matters more than you might think. Especially when visiting with parents, I prefer somewhere that makes the walk from the car to the restaurant easy.

Bapeul Jitda Gyeongsan Main Branch has a spacious, easy-to-use parking lot, so it was a good place to visit by car.

The white-toned building has the restaurant logo prominently displayed, so it was easy to spot from a distance and find.

Trees blend nicely with the neat exterior, making a pretty good first impression. It was clean overall without feeling too stiff—exactly the atmosphere I was looking for.
A family-friendly interior and private rooms

A Korean set-meal restaurant might bring to mind a rather formal atmosphere, but this felt more relaxed and comfortable for a family meal than heavy or rigid.

There are various seating options, from the open hall by the windows to rooms with floor seating, so you can be shown to a spot that suits your group size and situation.

The warm wood-toned interior and thoughtfully matched lighting created a cozy, comfortable atmosphere.

We had made a reservation, so we were shown to a private room. It was really nice for having a quiet meal and conversation with my parents.
Weekday lunch specials and prices

There were four separate weekday lunch specials, priced from ₩15,000 to ₩19,000, which did not feel overly expensive. Since I visited for weekday lunch, I ordered from these options.
Beyond the lunch specials, there are also individual set menus for enjoying a proper course-style meal on a truly special day.

Fitting for a place that is ideal for family gatherings, there is a separate children's menu too, making it good for visiting with kids.
What we ordered: weekday lunch specials
- Beef brisket and mushroom ttukbaegi set — ₩17,000
- Fresh vegetable bibimbap — ₩15,000
- Live abalone mulhoe — ₩19,000

Other than the porridge, which my family does not usually eat, we ordered one of every weekday lunch special. The menu selection was varied, so it was great for a group to share.
From live abalone mulhoe to the ttukbaegi set

The live abalone mulhoe (cold spicy seafood soup) came generously filled with abalone, shrimp, and other seafood, along with cabbage, perilla leaves, and vegetables, so there were lots of different textures.

The tangy, spicy mulhoe seasoning went beautifully with the varied textures of the abalone and vegetables. Seasoning is really important in mulhoe, and this one was not too spicy; it had a lovely gentle sweetness and was so good. It really woke up the appetite!!!

The fresh vegetable bibimbap (mixed rice) was topped with lettuce, assorted namul (seasoned vegetables), microgreens, and a meat garnish, making it a wholesome meal. I especially liked that the gochujang (red chili paste) was not too intense, spicy, or salty; it seemed to be Bapeul Jitda's house-made gochujang.

With all those vegetables together, the crisp texture really came through. It was a clean-tasting bibimbap rather than an overpowering one, and my parents liked it too!!

The beef brisket and mushroom ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) set was what I enjoyed most! The ttukbaegi held beef brisket and a whole lion's mane mushroom, with a shallow pool of lightly sweet broth, so it was great with rice.

Putting the beef brisket and mushroom over warm rice made a whole bowl of rice disappear in no time!! Although it contains meat, the mushroom kept it from feeling rich, and it was pleasantly light overall.

The beef brisket and mushroom ttukbaegi set was perfect for the gradually cooler weather too! I definitely recommend ordering this one at least once.
Side dishes are important to me at a Korean set-meal restaurant too, and every single banchan (side dish) was tasty here! Overall, the food was clean and let each ingredient's natural flavor come through. In particular, rather than seeming to use off-the-shelf sauces or seasonings, it felt as though each one had been considered to suit its dish. Instead of seasoning everything heavily, the flavors highlighted the ingredients—just right for a family gathering!
