Even when it's not a special occasion whenever I want cake I go to Siznique, a Daegu fruit cake spot on the basement 1st floor of Dong Daegu Shinsegae — it's packed with fruit and honestly the tastiest fresh cream cake I've had. A birthday peach cake just came out for the summer season so I bought it right away and tried it!

Siznique's stock at 6pm — the Wareureu cake is limited to 20 a day

I got there around 6pm after work and there weren't that many cakes left! I went to buy the Wareureu cake but it turns out Wareureu is limited to 20 a day and sells out early haha 🥹

If you reserve by phone or through Naver Reservation you can get Siznique Farm's Wareureu cake! The mango farm Wareureu has four or more whole gold mangoes in it. The milk fresh cream pairs so well with mango it's not heavy at all, really delicious.

The Wareureu cake is ₩60,000 more expensive than the regular cake since it has way more fruit, but the fruit spilling-over look made it seem so worth it!! I'll come back with a Wareureu review next time haha

Summer season menu, fruit cakes sold same-day

In winter and spring there were strawberry and mango cakes, but now that it's summer, a peach cake has come out too! I'd already tried the strawberry and mango cakes so I was really curious about the new peach one. Apparently Siznique Farm, this Daegu cake spot, sources fresh fruit every morning and handles every step themselves to sell fresh cakes. The fact that it's sold same-day made it feel even fresher, and I got to taste really sweet fruit — loved it!

Siznique cake prices, No. 1 and mini sizes

The No. 1 size mango cake is ₩48,000 and peach is ₩53,000! It's the most standard size and apparently the best seller haha. There's also a mini size for when you just want a light bite or a taste when you're out and about. There's also the mango cream basque and peach cream basque at ₩29,000, and the peach fromage tart at ₩25,900, so you can try their signature cakes without much of a commitment.

With my heart full of excitement I bought the peach cake! The Floral Peach No. 1 peach cake is ₩48,000, a pretty reasonable price. Note that prices vary a little by fruit :) Since it's a fresh cream cake, in hot summer like now you should refrigerate it as soon as possible — they even put in two ice packs next to the cake, such a thoughtful touch from Siznique, this Daegu cake spot.

Isn't the thinly sliced peach decoration so classy-looking haha This is the Daegu cake shop I always go to for every birthday, whenever I want cake — with Siznique's cake, both the looks and the taste made any Daegu date or anniversary feel special.

How does Floral Peach taste? Sanded inside with yogurt cream

Unlike mango and strawberry, the peach cake turned out to be sanded inside with yogurt cream. While the other cakes' cream was a rich milky fresh cream, the peach cake's tangy yogurt cream never got heavy — so delicious. The decoration on top is the regular milk fresh cream, so the cream inside was different from the decoration cream! Either way, every cream was delicious anyway ><

On top it's decorated with firm, sweet peach sliced very thin, so the texture was really nice too. I thought a firm peach wouldn't go with the fluffy sponge and soft cream, but the peach sanded inside turned out different from the one decorated on top!! It was closer to a slightly soft peach with the best sweetness .. 🍑 Siznique's cakes come out in season flavors like melon, watermelon, pineapple and more, and the new peach cake I tried was delicious enough to fall for completely.

It's far from my house but on days I really want a Daegu cake or for anniversaries and birthdays, I go all the way to Dong Daegu Station for Siznique's cake. The fruit is so sweet and generously piled on that I hope you all get to try it at least once :)
