In short
Woo Woo (우우) is a solo-drinking bar in Hongdae, on Wausan-ro near Sangsu Station in Mapo, Seoul, where every seat is bar-style and guests check in by QR code and order on their phones. The writer returned to Woo Woo with a friend for a second round after dinner, ordering the signature A-A cocktail (which tastes like a Kahlúa milk), a Baileys milk, cheese crackers and a Midori sour, and the bar was full even the day after a holiday. Woo Woo (우우), a solo-drinking bar near Sangsu Station in Hongdae, Seoul. I recommend it if you're looking for a quiet place to drink alone around Hapjeong and Sangsu.
Woo Woo near Sangsu Station: why it's good for a second round with a friend
Woo Woo is a Hongdae solo bar very close to Sangsu Station, so it's perfect for moving on after dinner. I had dinner with a friend not long ago, didn't want the night to end, and headed to Woo Woo.

There are a lot of solo bars around Hapjeong and Sangsu stations, but I heard Woo Woo has the most people and the friendliest vibe, so off I went! This was my second visit, and I always leave early. Every time I go home, it's completely full!!

Woo Woo location and opening hours
- Location: 39-12 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul (1st floor)
- Hours: weekdays 20:00-05:00, weekends 19:00-05:00
Woo Woo is really close to Sangsu Station, so it works well for a second round after dinner with a friend. It's also near the bars around Hongik University Station.

What are the atmosphere and seats like inside Woo Woo?
Woo Woo has soft, dim lighting and every table is bar-style. I got there right at opening time, 8 p.m., and the windows were open. I loved it, the vibe was amazing. But they closed them pretty quickly, haha.

I really liked the dark mood. The lighting is soft and nice, and it kind of makes you look better and prettier. It's not too dark, which I liked. All tables are bar-style, and the chairs aren't very uncomfortable, which was nice.

Each seat has a number written on it.

Woo Woo QR seat check-in and how to order
At Woo Woo, you scan the QR code on the table to check in to your seat. It seems you can rotate seats?, but I don't know whether anyone actually does.

You check male/female, and I think you could also write things like "I'd like to chat comfortably" or "I want to stay quiet"!!! I liked that there were house rules at the start, and nobody actually made me uncomfortable. Everyone seems to chat quietly, have fun, and leave.
You order on your phone. The menu is varied. It seems they give you a chocolate when you order a shot.

Woo Woo's complimentary snack and the signature A-A cocktail
The complimentary snack at Woo Woo is chicken drumsticks. I'm honestly not much of a free-snack eater, so it was just okay for me, but the person in front of me seemed to eat about 5 bowls, sob. It made me laugh...

Whenever I come to Woo Woo, I always have the signature A-A (아아). It's a smooth, sweet iced latte for grown-ups! Sweet and delicious. The taste sits somewhere between chocolate milk and coffee milk.
The signature A-A tastes similar to Kahlúa milk. I think heavy drinkers would love it. That day, someone who had the A-A said it was the best drink they'd ever had in their life and downed it in one go, sob.
My friend had Baileys milk that day. I like cinnamon, so I'll probably have the signature A-A again next time.

Extra orders: cheese crackers and a Midori sour
That day I also ordered cheese crackers partway through. You spread cream cheese on them, and they were tasty. The cream cheese portion is generous, too.

And then I think I had a Midori sour? My memory is a bit fuzzy. It was refreshing and delicious too!!! I think people who like sweet drinks would love it.
Is Woo Woo always full? Seat and restroom tips
It was the day after a holiday ended, and Woo Woo was still packed with people. There's a reason it's the number one solo bar around Sangsu Station in Hongdae. Other solo bars are really empty, but Woo Woo seems to be full all the time...
Best of all, there's a restroom inside!! It's one unisex restroom, and it was kept clean. If you go late from Friday to Sunday, there really are no seats. They also post updates on Instagram stories, so check before you go.
Who is Woo Woo a good fit for?
Since it's a solo bar, luck with your seat and the people around you matters.. but Woo Woo has been decent every time I've gone. The crowd is early twenties? Ages 20 to 22 are the most common. And from what I've seen so far, the women were really pretty... sob.
- Drinking in a loud atmosphere drains you
- You want to drink solo
- You're traveling alone in Seoul
- You want light conversation
I recommend Woo Woo near Sangsu Station to people like this. I've even seen a pair hit it off and leave together, haha.
