One weekday morning after dropping the kids off at school, I went looking for a good restaurant on Bojeong-dong Café Street to enjoy a leisurely brunch with a friend for the first time in ages. It is a place I visit often because there are always so many restaurants with a lovely atmosphere, but this time we stopped by Rustic Smokehouse, where you can enjoy Southern-style American barbecue and a range of Western dishes.
As you walk along Bojeong-dong Café Street, the large, eye-catching sign makes it easy to find. Even from the outside, it had the feel of a restaurant from an American movie, so I was excited before we even went in.

A great spot for a brunch gathering on Bojeong-dong Café Street
Bojeong-dong Café Street is famous as a date destination, but it is also a great place to meet up with friends. That day, there was a real mix of guests, from families to couples and groups of friends.
The spacious dining room and wide spacing between tables made it easy to chat, and the group seating was well arranged too. I thought it would be a nice option for a gathering in Bojeong-dong or a company dinner in Yongin. Parking was relatively convenient as well, so driving there did not feel like a burden.

Brunch tacos with an impressive smoky flavor
The tacos came out first. We ordered them from the brunch menu, and the soft tortillas were generously filled with meat, fresh vegetables, and cheese, all working beautifully together.
That smoky flavor hit the moment I took a bite, and it was so impressive. The meat was moist and pulled apart along the grain, giving it a lovely texture, while the crisp vegetables kept it from feeling too rich.
This is perfect for brunch.
My friend and I said that more than once, haha. It had a different appeal from the brunch dishes you commonly find on Bojeong-dong Café Street.

Seafood pasta generously filled with mussels and clams
The next dish was seafood pasta. It passed the visual test right away! It came loaded with mussels and clams, with a light sprinkling of cheese over the pasta, so I was looking forward to it before tasting it.
I tried the broth first, and its deep seafood flavor really came through. It was savory yet clean, the kind of taste that keeps you reaching for another bite.
The noodles were cooked just right, so they still had a good bite, and the seafood was fresh without any fishiness. No wonder so many people recommend it as a great pasta spot in Bojeong-dong. Anyone who usually loves pasta should be very satisfied with this dish.

Steak and smoked barbecue next time
As its name suggests, Rustic Smokehouse is known for smoked barbecue and steak. We focused on brunch this visit, but I noticed that lots of people at nearby tables had ordered steak too.
Seeing those thick, beautifully cooked steaks made me think I absolutely need to try one next time. It is a place I would also recommend to anyone looking for steak in Bojeong-dong. It seems like a particularly good choice for a family meal or an anniversary date.

I visited Rustic Smokehouse because I wanted a relaxed brunch with a friend, and I was happy with not only the delicious tacos and seafood pasta but also the spacious, comfortable atmosphere. It is a versatile restaurant for family meals, get-togethers with friends, company dinners, and dates alike. Next time, I plan to come back for the signature smoked barbecue and steak.
