Here's my review of Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점). A lot of you are probably hunting for a good spot in Bangi-dong these days, so today I'll give you info that will really help.

Where is Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch near Jamsil Station?

Exterior of Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch with its retro sign

Wareureu Mansion is one of the well-known spots in Bangi-dong. The sign alone gives off an unusual vibe, and the retro-style exterior stands out even from far away. Walking through the Bangi-dong bar alley, your eyes just naturally land on it, so it wasn't hard to find even on a first visit. As you'd expect from a popular Bangi-dong spot, I could really feel the hype.

Retro interior and group seating at Wareureu Mansion

Inner area with group seating

Open the door and you'll be surprised by how spacious the inside is. The tables are spaced out, so we could chat comfortably without worrying about the next table, and the soft lighting was perfect for an evening drinking session. You can tell they put real effort into the interior, even among Bangi-dong bars, so I thought it would work as a date spot too. There's also separate group seating, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Bangi-dong place for a company dinner.

The moment I opened the menu, the agonizing began. It's famous as a Bangi-dong favorite, so the menu was packed, but I went with the two-plus-grade Korean beef tartare and brisket wraps (투뿔한우육회차돌쌈). This is the very dish made famous by Davichi's Kang Min-kyung's YouTube video! It's a 'hot-and-cold combo' (뜨차조합): 1++ Korean beef tartare served with brisket stir-fried for a smoky, fire-kissed flavor. I also ordered self-serve ramyeon and self-serve rice balls, and to wet my whistle I got a draft beer, and the price was a whopping ₩1,900, which shocked me. For a Bangi-dong bar, that price is really reasonable.

With a ₩1,900 draft beer, there's no more perfect combo.

Self-serve ramyeon cooking at the table

After enjoying the meat for a while, I boiled the self-serve ramyeon, and the savory depth of the beef and brisket had seeped into the broth a little, so it worked great as a hangover-style soup too.

Self-serve rice balls made with sesame oil and seaweed flakes

To finish, I made the self-serve rice balls, and the sesame oil aroma and seaweed flakes went so well together that I kept reaching for more.

How do the 1++ Korean beef tartare and brisket wraps taste?

Finally, the main event, the beef tartare and brisket wraps, arrived.

The brisket had a properly smoky, fire-kissed flavor and its richness really came through, and the 1++ Korean beef tartare was soft yet chewy, just as the grade promises. Wrapped together in lettuce, the fatty richness of the brisket and the chewy texture of the tartare blended perfectly in my mouth. After trying it myself, I understood why it blew up on YouTube.

Verdict: is Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch worth a day-drinking visit?

Overall, it was a visit with very high satisfaction. There's a reason it always shows up when you search for Bangi-dong eats. Meat quality, interior and value for money all line up, so I'm 100% coming back.

For anyone looking for a Bangi-dong bar or a good meal in Bangi-dong, I strongly recommend Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch. Do try the beef tartare and brisket wraps, and if you enjoy them as a set with the self-serve ramyeon and rice balls, you won't regret it. Next time I'll have to make another trip to a Bangi-dong bar to try the other dishes.
