It had been a while since I visited Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch with the kids. We had such a delicious meal when we came before that we returned for another family meal this time. We went on a Sunday, and of course, it was packed. There was a wait, so we got in after about 20 minutes.

Visiting Manpo Galbi with Three Children
When we eat out with three children, parking is always something I check. Manpo Galbi has a spacious parking lot, which was great because we had less to worry about even on a busy day.

There were also lots of signs that celebrities had visited the restaurant. It felt like a well-loved Yangju restaurant that people keep coming back to.

Since we came back after our first visit, it is a place worth remembering if you are looking for a family dining spot in Yangju.

Five Servings of Galbi and Naengmyeon for a Family of Five
After looking over the menu, our family of five ordered five servings of galbi (marinated beef short ribs). One of Manpo Galbi's biggest draws is that naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) comes with each serving of galbi! Being able to enjoy cold noodles after the ribs makes this a good setup for families visiting with children, too.

Our galbi arrived, and doesn't it look delicious just sitting there? We had come to a Yangju galbi restaurant, so of course we had to properly dig into the ribs.

Side Dishes That Went Well with the Galbi

There was a great variety of banchan (Korean side dishes) with the galbi, too. We had yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), salad, yukjeon (pan-fried battered beef), seasoned chili peppers, sweet-and-sour radish, and other dishes that paired nicely with meat. Having all these sides to enjoy in between bites made the table feel especially generous.
Charcoal-Grilled Galbi That Even the Kids Ate Well

Galbi really does taste best grilled over charcoal, doesn't it? The fire was good, so the meat cooked up beautifully golden and tempting.

Watching the galbi sizzle away over the charcoal made me want to eat it right away.

We cut the nicely cooked galbi into easy-to-eat pieces, making some even smaller for our youngest.

Well, would you believe it? Our youngest seemed to eat almost a whole serving alone. It must have suited their taste because they ate so well.

Take a bite of golden-brown galbi with pickled onions and shredded scallions, and the gently smoky charcoal aroma comes through with the ribs' sweet and savory flavor. The meat was tender, too, making it easy to enjoy with the kids.

Mul-naengmyeon and Bibim-naengmyeon After the Galbi
Galbi followed by naengmyeon! After we finished the meat, it was time for the cold noodles we had been waiting for. Since we ordered five servings of galbi, we chose mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in chilled broth) and bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) according to our tastes. For me, refreshing mul-naengmyeon is still the best match for galbi. I tried a bite of the bibim-naengmyeon my husband ordered, and it was deliciously sweet and spicy, too.
After-Meal Treats the Kids Loved

The reason people do not leave right after finishing their meals: a second round with dessert~

After your meal, you can enjoy ice cream, ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snack), and coffee. The freshly popped ppeongtwigi was especially popular with the kids! Even after filling up on galbi, somehow there was still room for ppeongtwigi. For the adults, sweet dabang-style coffee or an Americano made a nice finish to the meal.
Our Family Meal Verdict with Three Children
For a family meal with three children, we look at more than just the food: parking, the menu setup, and whether the kids eat well all matter. From the large parking lot to charcoal-grilled galbi, varied side dishes, naengmyeon with the ribs, and after-meal desserts, Manpo Galbi was a comfortable place for a family to enjoy a meal together. The kids especially loved the galbi, so I think it will come to mind again for our next family meal out. If you are looking for a good restaurant, Korean BBQ restaurant, or galbi restaurant in Yangju, Manpo Galbi is a nice place to visit with your family! Our family left full and happy again this time.
