Apparently it is called Jugeokjip because you grill fresh meat on a jugeok, a Korean spatula!!

Parking and a spacious dining room

There is a small parking lot beside the restaurant. It was full when I went, so I parked in the alley in front of the restaurant.

What makes Jugeokjip such a steal is that soju is free and comes with unlimited refills. They say you could even drink 1,000 bottles hahaha. These days, one bottle of soju is at least ₩5,000, so if you drank 100 bottles??? Hahaha

The interior is very large, clean, and stylish. The lighting stands out too!!! There are different tables for different group sizes, so all kinds of large gatherings are totally possible.

There are even rooms divided by walls, so you can use them with a private feel. I thought they would be perfect for group get-togethers or company dinners!! (A company dinner is coming up here! I am such a Korean office worker 🥲)

There is a separate sink outside the restroom, which makes hand-washing so convenient. There is a diaper-changing station too.

What can you eat at the self-bar?

Jugeokjip's self-bar is amazing too. You can refill the vegetables and side dishes, and the ice cream is free!! There is both instant coffee mix and freshly brewed coffee.

There are marshmallows and corn too. Nothing but tasty things here haha. I loaded my plate with a little of everything. I especially loved the cream soup!

They even set the cutlery on a pretty stone plate, which put me in such a good mood haha. Unlimited soju, totally free!!

I ordered charcoal-grilled fresh pork belly and jugeoksal

The signature items are jugeoksal and udae galbi, premium beef short ribs. There are also fresh beef rib meat, garlic-marinated beef rib meat, cubed marbled beef, charcoal-grilled fresh pork belly, charcoal-grilled marinated pork, Korean beef yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), and side dishes.

If you write a Naver receipt review, you can choose one complimentary item: five-star-hotel-style marinated crab, doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), or kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew).

We ordered two portions of charcoal-grilled fresh pork belly, cola, doenjang-jjigae, and mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth).

The basic side dishes were quite good too. Lettuce and cabbage wraps! I love that they give you cabbage 👍 I also really love getting japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) as a basic side! We brought over the tteokbokki and cream soup from the self-bar too haha. The spicy wheat-rice-cake tteokbokki and old-school pork-cutlet-restaurant-style cream soup were both delicious.

Marshmallows and corn ready to grill too! First, I coated my stomach with cream soup. Mukbang mode activated!

Here are the fresh pork belly and jugeoksal. They gave us a little jugeoksal as a complimentary service!! Owner, I love you ❤️ The meat was fresh, with a clear bright-red color.

Ready to grill over charcoal 😆 We put the fresh pork belly and jugeoksal over the charcoal! Eggplant, zucchini, and corn went on too!

Once they were nicely browned, we cut them up. The owner grilled them for us. Jugeokjip is not a restaurant that grills the meat for you, but when it is not busy, they help with grilling a lot.

How was the texture of jugeoksal?

Springy jugeoksal! It was my first time trying it, and it was springier and chewier than pork belly. Fresh pork belly was delicious too, but jugeoksal wins!! Of course, Jugeokjip's fresh, thick-cut pork belly gets a huge thumbs-up too!! Something delicious topped with something even more delicious ❤️

The jugeoksal and fresh pork belly were delicious plain, wrapped in cabbage or lettuce, dipped in salt, or dunked in sauce!

The grilled vegetables were good too!! The grilled corn was especially delicious.

Marshmallows grilled on skewers

Threading marshmallows onto skewers and lightly grilling them too! It feels like camping, doesn't it? Haha

Then we finished the meal with doenjang-jjigae, rice, and mul-naengmyeon.

Coffee and ice cream after the meal

For dessert, sweet instant coffee and ice cream too!! It was a day of leveling up my pork power haha. The fresh pork belly and jugeoksal were fresh and delicious. The generous service and kindness really stayed with me too. It is a place where delicious food makes you happy and the kindness makes you feel even better!!
