Sangbong Korean pub for a Sunday second round: free rabokki at Kkamuri
In short
Kkamuri Sangbong Station Main Branch is an indoor pocha-style Korean pub (까무리) at the far end of the Sangbong food alley in Jungnang, Seoul. On a Sunday evening second round, the writer had Kkamuri's free side dish of nostalgic school-snack-bar rabokki (ramyeon noodles in tteokbokki sauce) and the Owner's Home Run Set, with Kansai assorted oden soup and mixed grilled skewers, alongside soju. The women's restroom is thoughtfully stocked with a hair brush, mouthwash and hygiene products. For a comfortable second-round bar with plenty of food options near Sangbong Station, Kkamuri is well worth recommending.

Today I went to Kkamuri in Sangbong, an indoor pocha (Korean-style pub) that's perfect for a drink near Sangbong Station~ It was a Sunday evening and I wanted to end the day on a good note, so I came for a 2nd round. From the menu to the mood it was perfect, so here's my review of Kkamuri, a great spot near Sangbong Station!

Where is Kkamuri in Sangbong?
Kkamuri (까무리) is inside the Sangbong food alley, on the last row at the far end. Check the map, haha.

Sunday evening at Kkamuri: atmosphere and wait time
On Sunday evening we got in right away with no wait. It was lively with people wrapping up their weekend, but not too loud, which was just right. The terrace seats out front also had room, which was a relief.
I got in without a wait because it was Sunday evening, but the place is usually popular, so I'd suggest coming a bit earlier rather than too late!

Kkamuri's women's restroom: the hidden highlight
The women's restroom at Kkamuri is thoughtfully stocked with a hair brush, mouthwash and even hygiene products. While looking around the place, this restroom was the hidden highlight that really touched me! I care sooo much about restrooms when I go to bars, and I sincerely admired the owner's consideration here.. You know this makes it a perfect date spot for women, right??

What to order at Kkamuri
Skewers are Kkamuri's main menu, and the owner is clearly proud of the signature oden soup. As you'd expect from a Sangbong favorite, the menu was incredibly varied, but I wanted to try both skewers and oden soup, so I picked a set.

What comes in Kkamuri's Owner's Home Run Set?
The Owner's Home Run Set is Kkamuri's signature, said to be the best-value combination out of all those menu items. With the Home Run Set you can choose one of three oden soups: Kansai assorted oden soup, Nagasaki or spicy. I went with the standard Kansai assorted oden soup!!

Kkamuri's free side dish: nostalgic school-snack-bar rabokki
As soon as you sit down, Kkamuri sets out rabokki (ramyeon noodles with tteokbokki rice cakes) as the free side dish. It's exactly the nostalgic rabokki I used to buy all the time at my high school snack bar, so I almost screamed when I saw it T_T Do you all know this one?
I ate it all the time back in my school days, so I devoured it like crazy, reliving the memories T_T

How does Kkamuri's Kansai assorted oden soup taste?
Kkamuri's Kansai assorted oden soup has sliced Cheongyang chili peppers, so the broth is refreshing and spicy, a truly authentic soju side dish. It's the main dish included in the set, and it came packed so full the pot almost overflowed, with skewered fish cakes, fried tofu pouches and colorful fish cakes of every kind.
It was definitely different from the oden soup at other bars!

Fried shiitake mushrooms, just like a Japanese izakaya
Kkamuri's fried shiitake mushrooms were a 10000% match for the fried shiitake I fell in love with at a Japanese izakaya. The aroma is insane! One bite and the mushroom juice comes with a fragrance that hits your nose, and I immediately followed it with soju, haha.

Kkamuri's mixed grilled skewers: the scallion chicken skewer wins
The mixed grilled skewers in the Owner's Home Run Set came in several kinds, which I liked. The smoky grill flavor hits right away, and taking a bite and then a sip of cold soju is game over... The chicken skewer grilled with scallions became my top pick, haha.
Overall, the Owner's Home Run Set, with hot spicy broth and grilled skewers, had a perfectly balanced lineup of side dishes for a 2nd round :)

Is Kkamuri in Sangbong a good second-round bar?
Kkamuri in Sangbong is a great place to enjoy soju, in a comfortable and trendy atmosphere with a varied menu and high-quality side dishes. From the nostalgic school-snack-bar rabokki served as the free side dish to the thoughtful touches filling every corner of the restroom, it let me end my Sunday evening on an even better note.
If you're looking for a real bar near Sangbong Station with lots of side dishes, great value, and a pleasant, thoughtful vibe, I absolutely recommend Kkamuri. I'll definitely be back soon to work through the other menu items! If you're coming to Jungnang or Sangbong, give it a visit~!
