Songdo cookie café in Incheon with a Dwaejiba cookie: Standard Square
In short
Standard Square is a cookie and dessert café on Keonbensia-daero in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, serving coffee from beans it roasts itself and desserts baked fresh every day. The writer ordered chocolate milk, chamomile tea, a Dwaejiba cookie (named after a Korean ice cream bar) and a triple berry scoop cake, and enjoyed them among blue accents beneath wide floor-to-ceiling windows. For a Songdo dessert café with a large cookie selection and an open view, Standard Square is a satisfying choice.

26.06.12 I was looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Songdo and ended up at Standard Square. The desserts were so good too, a Songdo café with a great view 😊

Where is Standard Square, and what are the hours and parking?
Standard Square is at 50 Keonbensia-daero, Unit 101-102, Building 101, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It's on the first floor of the shops along Keonbensia-daero in Songdo.

Standard Square is open daily from 09:00 to 22:00.

For parking, use the World Mark Prugio Complex 1 underground parking lot, which reportedly gives 3 hours free.

Standard Square menu and cookie display
This is the Standard Square menu. It's such a shame that I went to a coffee-focused café and didn't get to drink coffee... I'll definitely have coffee next time I visit.

A real cookie paradise! The display case was full of all kinds of cookies. From classic cookies to unique ones, there were so many that I struggled to decide which to pick.

They looked delicious just to look at, with a nutty aroma on top, so I felt dessert lovers would find it hard to just walk past.

Standard Square coffee and beans
Standard Square takes coffee seriously too. They reportedly roast their beans themselves at their own coffee lab in Namdong Industrial Complex, so the coffee is fresher.
In the shop you can get 4 house blends and decaf coffee, and they introduce a new specialty coffee every week, so you can try something new each visit. Standard Square beans are also sold in the shop.
What's the atmosphere at Standard Square like?
Standard Square has a white-toned space with blue accents. The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked in was the stylish interior with blue as the accent color.

Blue added to the clean white space created a chic, cool atmosphere.

It's decorated with charm everywhere, so it's great for taking photos and comfortable to linger in.

Big windows and roomy seating
Thanks to the wide windows, the scenery outside comes into view at a glance, and it felt open and not stuffy at all.

The space is full of natural light, so it's perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee. Sitting there looking out the window made me feel at ease.

There's more indoor seating further inside, so the café is surprisingly big with lots of seats.
What did I order at Standard Square?
At Standard Square I ordered chocolate milk, chamomile tea, a Dwaejiba cookie (a cookie modeled on the Dwaejiba ice cream bar) and a triple berry scoop cake.

All the desserts are reportedly baked fresh every day with carefully chosen ingredients such as organic flour, organic sugar, grade 1 antibiotic-free eggs, and French chocolate and fresh cream.
Maybe because they use good ingredients so generously, both the cookies and the cake were clean-tasting and really delicious. They go really well with coffee too.

Chocolate milk
The Standard Square chocolate milk was full of rich chocolate sweetness. It isn't just sugary chocolate milk; it has a smooth, weighty chocolate flavor, so it was nice with the desserts.

Chamomile tea
The chamomile tea had a lovely subtle floral scent. Its fragrant, gentle taste made me feel relaxed.

How does the Dwaejiba cookie taste?
The Dwaejiba cookie is one that piques your curiosity from the name alone! With the first bite, I got a familiar sweetness that reminded me of the Dwaejiba ice cream bar I ate as a kid.

Sweet, nutty chocolate blended through the crispy cookie, and the textures kept changing as I chewed, which made it fun to eat.
And there's strawberry jam inside as a bonus! This is what a Dwaejiba bar would taste like as a cookie!

Triple berry scoop cake
The triple berry scoop cake was adorable from the looks alone. Unlike a regular cake, it's a cake you eat with a spoon!
The fresh taste of strawberry, raspberry and blueberry blended with smooth cream, so it was sweet yet refreshing.

Even though it has rich cream, the tartness of the berries kept it from feeling heavy at all, and the berry flavor came through with every bite, so it was a cake I enjoyed happily.
Is Standard Square in Songdo worth recommending?

Standard Square satisfied me on everything: good coffee, carefully made desserts, and a stylish interior. If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere or a great dessert spot in Songdo, I recommend visiting at least once.
