A bakery favorite near Songdo Central Park: Tomoru Bakery.

Bread purchased at Tomoru Bakery Songdo

Hunting down new bakeries is fun, but there are always a few you end up going back to. Tomoru Bakery is one of those for me!

There's a Tomoru near my house that I stop by often, so when I spotted one in Songdo, I couldn't just walk past! Naturally, I started with my usual picks. And once again, it didn't disappoint. Haha.

What is Tomoru Bakery near Incheondaeipgu Station like inside?

Tomoru Bakery Songdo sits in Arcadia Building 2, in the Songdo 2-gongu commercial district, right next to the Olive Young Songdo store. It's not a huge bakery café — more of a cozy neighborhood bakery, modest in size. There aren't many tables inside, but there's a terrace space too, which made it feel comfortable. The exterior has a warm brick-accented look!

The two breads I always buy at Tomoru Bakery in Songdo

The first thing I put on my tray was the olive ciabatta. Then I picked the rye fig bread too. I also grabbed castella and sausage croissant, which my husband loves, along with a few other breads.

Honestly, at a bakery you visit often, choosing gets easier! When I spot something new I'll try it out of curiosity, but I always end up coming back to the flavors I already know are winners. Haha.

What does Tomoru Bakery's olive ciabatta taste like?

The olive ciabatta is what I always buy at Tomoru. It's a plain, hearty ciabatta with olives and cheese baked in, so it's never bland even eaten plain. Lightly pan-toasted in olive oil, it's even better!

It's great as a simple morning meal bread, and pairs well with coffee too. A bread you'd buy again even after having it many times! So this time too, it went straight into my basket without a second thought. And the rye fig bread is my other go-to as well!

Honestly, at Tomoru Songdo, pretty much anything you pick tastes good, so browsing and grabbing whatever you're craving that day rarely goes wrong. Still, if I had to recommend the popular items, besides the olive ciabatta and rye fig bread, there's basil tomato bread, cucumber baguette, and myeongran (pollack roe) scallion baguette. The sandwiches are all delicious too!

A homey Songdo bread shop with outdoor tables

Songdo has plenty of large, photogenic bakery cafés. Compared to those, Tomoru Bakery is on the simpler side. But that never felt like a drawback. If anything, I liked how it felt like a neighborhood bakery you could pop into, browse comfortably, and leave. There are also outdoor tables set up right in front of the store.

On a sunny day, it occurred to me that instead of taking bread home, it might be nice to eat it right there with a cup of coffee! A different, smaller kind of pleasure than spending hours at a big café :D

For anyone looking for a bakery favorite in Songdo, here's the rundown on Tomoru Bakery's pros and cons.

Is Tomoru Bakery's bread gift box worth it as a present?

For special occasions, they have everything from Tomoru cakes to cookie gift sets, plus boxes where you can pick your own breads to give as a gift — great for something light and thoughtful. Next time I visit a friend, I'll buy some popular items, box them up, and bring them along as a gift :)

Exploring a new Songdo bakery is nice too, but on days when I just want bread that won't disappoint, my feet head straight to somewhere familiar. Even without a big, flashy space, there's clearly a reason people keep coming back. Next time, on a nice day, I'll order coffee too and take my time at the outdoor tables :D
