Kara-iyakisoba set for two at a Songdo Triple Street restaurant: Jojo

It had been a while since my husband and I went out for a day trip nearby. After shopping at Songdo Hyundai Outlet, we found a restaurant with strong Japanese vibes at Triple Street!! Turned out it was a super famous okonomiyaki spot ,, I'll recommend the set menu that's great value for money too!

Jojo Triple Street Branch is an okonomiyaki specialty restaurant inside Triple Street in Songdo, Incheon, open 11:30–23:00. Break time is 15:00–17:00, but there's no break on Saturdays and Sundays.

What Jojo Triple Street looks like inside and out

Were there always this many restaurants at Triple Street..? After debating what to eat, we settled on okonomiyaki.

A standee for Culinary Class Wars caught my eye 👀 turns out Jojo's owner-chef appeared on Culinary Class Wars 2. This place was already famous for okonomiyaki, mostly known around Seongsu, and apparently the show made it even more popular.

It's popular enough that people register for a Catch Table waitlist on weekends!! We visited on a weekday evening and there was no wait.

Even though we arrived a bit earlier than typical dinner time, the place was already full...! Since it's well known as a Songdo restaurant, there were quite a few young couples around. Definitely a Triple Street hot spot ,,

The restaurant was small and cozy, mostly furnished with 2-person and 4-person tables.

We'd come straight from shopping so we had a lot of bags and it felt chaotic, but each table had a basket to store your things. Really convenient for keeping bags out of the way.

And true to an okonomiyaki specialty restaurant, every table had a teppan grill built in.

As soon as customers finished eating and left, staff wiped down the table and grill right away. I liked that it was kept hygienic!

Various sauces were set out at each table so you could add more to taste. There was also info about a review event, so worth checking out!

What comes in the 39,000-won signature set for two

Jojo Triple Street Branch's signature 2-person set is 39,000 won and includes okonomiyaki, donpeiyaki, and yakisoba. While debating the menu, we found this well-packed set. Great composition and great value!

Donpeiyaki: the best of the three dishes at Jojo

The food came out faster than I expected!! First up was donpeiyaki! It's an egg roll packed with pork and bean sprouts. There was cheese inside too, which made it even better. The filling was so generous it was really delicious. Out of the three dishes, I think this was my favorite ,,?!

Kara-iyakisoba: spicy enough that you never tire of it

Next was kara-iyakisoba (spicy yakisoba). Interestingly, this one was just served on a plate as is. Donpeiyaki and okonomiyaki can get a bit much after a while, but the spicy kick of the yakisoba made for a good combo. It wasn't very spicy, so if you want it hotter, adding the fire sauce on the table would be a good idea!

The yakisoba also had generous shrimp, meat, and cabbage inside, so my husband liked this dish too.

Next, the star of the show — okonomiyaki! When we ordered, they gave us a small memo pad and asked us to write our nickname and menu name, and I wondered why — turns out they stick a little flag with your name into the okonomiyaki hahaha. Such a cute touch >_< !!

The okonomiyaki was thick and packed with ingredients, so it was tasty. Especially the shrimp inside — genuinely jumbo shrimp !!!!🦐🦐🦐🦐 It was good, but there was so much sauce drizzled on top that the sauce flavor became too strong and I got tired of it pretty quickly ㅜ That was a bit of a letdown!

Still, we cleaned our plates properly..

Is Jojo Triple Street a good Songdo date course?

I didn't expect much, but Jojo turned out better than I thought. Also, since the set menus are put together to suit Korean palates, it felt even more delicious. I'm officially calling this a Songdo Triple Street restaurant worth visiting ,,, The teppan grill at every table was also a plus since it kept the food warm until the very end. Since it's open late, it'd also be nice with a drink! Pairing it with Songdo Hyundai Outlet and Triple Street makes for a pretty perfect date course!
