Songdo bakery café autumn patio catch-up, 3 salt breads: Cozy Bear
In short
Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery Songdo Hagwonga Branch is a bakery café on Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu, Incheon, that bakes its own salt bread on site. A plan to just grab coffee with a sister who lives in Songdo turned into three salt breads — plain, mentaiko and garlic — plus an iced americano and a café latte at an outdoor table on a cool autumn day. Cozy Bear is the kind of coffee stop where the salt bread quietly steals the visit.

My sister who lives in Songdo said she'd give me a Chuseok outfit for my baby, so I zoomed over to pick it up 😆 It felt like a waste to just grab the gift and leave, so we said, "let's just grab a light coffee!" and that's how we ended up at Cozy Bear Songdo Hagwonga Branch.

I really went in planning to just have coffee, but wait... this wasn't just a café, it was a bakery café that bakes its own salt bread 🥐 An unexpected salt bread find 👍
What is Cozy Bear Songdo Hagwonga Branch like inside?
Cozy Bear Songdo Hagwonga Branch has a clean interior in white tones with wood accents. The vibe caught my eye the moment I walked in. It's bright and airy overall, but the wood tones keep it from feeling too cold — a subtly warm atmosphere that lives up to the name Cozy Bear 🤎

Inside, there's a separate baking area labeled THE BEAR'S KITCHEN. Seeing that this is a place that actually makes its own bread made me even more excited!

And the bear-holding-bread packaging sitting on top of the showcase was so cute lol 🧸🥐

When is the salt bread baked, and what goes into it?
Cozy Bear bakes its own salt bread, and according to the in-store signage, it comes out twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. They use French cultured butter and Guérande sea salt, and only bake a set quantity, so depending on the time, it might sell out early.
Sure enough, while we were sitting there, people kept coming in to pick up takeout, and I thought, "oh... quite a lot of people come here just for the salt bread?" 😮 If you're looking for a coffee shop in Korea in Songdo, Incheon where you can enjoy coffee along with freshly baked bread, this seems like a solid choice.

Our order: three salt breads and two coffees
At Cozy Bear we ordered plain salt bread, mentaiko salt bread, garlic salt bread, plus an iced americano and a café latte ☕️. We definitely started with "let's just have a light coffee"... but how could you not try the freshly baked salt bread?🤣 With plain, mentaiko, and garlic all on offer, it was hard to pick just one.

Plain salt bread at Cozy Bear
With salt bread, the classic really has to be good! Slightly crisp outside, moist and soft inside — that crispy-outside-chewy-inside texture 💛 The nutty butter flavor plus the salty punch on top made even the basic version addictive. Even better with coffee!

Garlic salt bread, the BEST seller
Among the salt breads on display, the garlic one had a BEST label on it. If it's the best, I have to try it lol, so along with plain and mentaiko, I picked up garlic too. The nutty butter flavor of the salt bread combined with garlic's distinct aroma and savoriness gave it a different charm from the plain one 🧄🥐

Mentaiko salt bread
The mentaiko salt bread has mentaiko (seasoned pollock roe) sauce and seaweed on top, giving it a completely different feel from the plain one. The savory, salty bread paired with mentaiko's distinct umami went surprisingly well with coffee too. Starting with plain and moving through mentaiko and garlic, each a bit different — glad we ordered all three lol

Why the outdoor seats win in autumn
The weather was gorgeous that day too. With a cool autumn breeze blowing gently, we headed straight for Cozy Bear's outdoor seats! With delicious salt bread and coffee in front of us, my sister and I chatted for ages lol If it had been the hot summer we'd have gone straight inside, but in autumn weather like this, you can't give up the pleasure of drinking coffee outdoors 🍂☕️
The coffee went well with the bread, and the bread was tastier than expected — I went in for a quick tea and came out having properly enjoyed the whole thing.
And to wrap up, the real reason for the day... proof of the Chuseok outfit gift for my baby 👶🎁💛 Thanks, sis lol Gotta dress my little one up nicely 😚
Final verdict on Cozy Bear Songdo
Since the salt bread is baked in-house, the crisp outside and moist inside texture was great, and it was nice being able to try three kinds evenly — plain, mentaiko, and the in-store BEST menu item, garlic. There seemed to be plenty of takeout customers too, so it'd be good for anyone nearby looking for salt bread, and if you're searching for a Songdo, Incheon café bakery where you can enjoy coffee and baked goods in one stop, Cozy Bear is worth a visit.
Went in for a coffee, came out completely hooked on the salt bread 🧸🥐
