Weeknight black sesame latte and fig cake at Uiwang outlet café

When you're shopping at an outlet, it's exciting at first, but after wandering around for a while your energy just drains away, haha. That's exactly what happened this day — after browsing to my heart's content, I was craving coffee so badly that I ducked in here. Since it was a weekday, I got to relax and properly enjoy both coffee and cake.

Location and exterior — 3rd floor of the outlet, right on the shopping route

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang Branch sits inside Lotte Premium Outlets Uiwang, making it easy to pop into while shopping. Since it's a café inside the outlet, finding it is no trouble at all, and best of all, it naturally falls right along your shopping route. When I go on weekends the outlet is way too crowded for my taste, but on weekdays parking is free and there's hardly anyone around — so~ good! I could browse clothes here and there, haha, basically taking a stroll like around my own neighborhood, haha^^ So Jeong Jiyoung Coffee being quiet too was such a plus!! And since you just use the outlet's own parking lot, there's no need to hunt for separate café parking either. Shopping, delicious coffee, and dessert all in one place — isn't that exactly the appeal of a good café at Uiwang Premium Outlets? ^^

They sell coffee beans and mugs too^^ Since there was hardly anyone around that day, I ended up browsing everything one by one, haha.

Everyone in Suwon knows Jeong Jiyoung Coffee, right? Haha. I've had it at the Suwon Haenggung branch and also at Starfield... and no matter which branch you go to, it always tastes the same, which I love! Personally I'd recommend the coffee over the regular drinks. The beans are just genuinely good, I'd say. Give this Suwon local brand a try~ haha.

Interior mood — felt like having the whole place to myself on a weeknight

Walking inside, it was quieter than I expected. Outlets really are best visited on weekdays~~ Especially since I went on a weekday, it felt like I had the whole place to myself, haha. And it was almost 9pm when I went. Hahaha, maybe because my legs were tired from all that shopping, but the inside was quiet. I really recommend stopping in on a weekday for a quick rest while shopping. Since the surroundings weren't too noisy, it was the perfect spot to catch your breath over a cup of coffee. When you're at an outlet, you inevitably end up walking non-stop.

Look at one store, then go to another, try on clothes, browse around... haha. Then sitting down at the café, my legs felt like they came back to life, hahaha. So personally, rather than a busy time like weekends, I think a weekday visit is great if you want to relax like I did. If you're looking for café desserts in Uiwang and want somewhere not too crowded to rest, this kind of atmosphere is pretty solid.

What I ordered that day was yogurt strawberry, iced black sesame latte, and fig earl grey cake. 🍓☕️🍰 When choosing from the menu, the cake was the first thing that caught my eye.

A cake with figs in it especially... it gave off such a strong autumn vibe that I really wanted to try it, haha. I'd gone in just craving coffee while shopping, but I ended up not settling for coffee alone and ordering dessert too, no holds barred. At this point I'm starting to wonder if the point of this shopping trip was clothes or the café, lol.

Yogurt strawberry — light and refreshing without any fuss

Yogurt strawberry is honestly a familiar flavor most people have tried before. ^^ Rather than being new or bold, it was tangy and sweet in a way that's easy to drink without any pressure. It paired fine with coffee too, and the combo of tart strawberry and yogurt gave a slightly refreshing feel in the mouth. So if you're visiting with kids or looking for something lighter than a strong coffee, this menu item is a solid option.

Iced black sesame latte — drink it as is, don't stir

And my coffee order that day was the iced black sesame latte, haha. At first glance I assumed it was just a regular black sesame latte, but when I tasted it, there was a nutty black sesame cream layered on top with a smooth café latte underneath. The staff told me it's better to drink it as is rather than stirring it with the straw, and I understood exactly why the moment I tried it. 😆 If you just stir it all together, the black sesame and latte mix at once, but drinking it layered, the first sip hits you with rich, nutty black sesame cream, followed by the smooth latte. The top is rich and nutty while the flavor gets smoother and more coffee-forward as you go down, so there's a real contrast even within a single sip. I especially liked that the nuttiness of the black sesame wasn't overpowering and paired well with the coffee. If you're looking for good coffee in Uiwang and want something a bit different from a plain americano or latte, I'd recommend this one~~

Fig earl grey cake — not too sweet

🤎 They packed in this much fig~~ haha. And what genuinely exceeded my expectations was the fig earl grey cake. The figs were used generously, so every bite of cake gave you a solid sense of that fig texture. And what I liked most while eating this cake was that it wasn't too sweet. When a cake is overly sweet, it's delicious at first but after a few bites you keep reaching for coffee. This cake, though, had the subtle natural sweetness of fig blending smoothly with the soft texture of the cake. On top of that, the faint aroma of earl grey made the whole thing fragrant without being overwhelming. Even with so much fig packed in, it wasn't the type where sweetness suddenly hits you hard, which I loved. Personally, this is exactly the kind of cake I keep reaching for. Eating it with the smooth latte especially made the cake's flavor feel even more comforting. If you want to properly enjoy café desserts in Uiwang, this fig cake was a pretty satisfying choice. Seriously, next time I go to Jeong Jiyoung Coffee, I'm getting the fig cake again!! Haha.

This time, the nuttiness of the black sesame latte plus the fig earl grey cake made it more than just a simple break — it turned into a proper café time. The relaxed weekday atmosphere added to the satisfaction of the visit. I went into this Uiwang Premium Outlets café visit thinking of it as just a quick rest between shopping, but I ended up enjoying both drinks and dessert.
