Butter croissant and Earl Grey jam at Jam Jam, a Yeonnam-dong café

Today I'm sharing my visit to Jam Jam, a hot brunch café in Yeonnam-dong that I went to not long ago and completely fell for.

Walking down the back alley I always pass in Yeonnam-dong, you'll spot Jam Jam — the kind of exterior that makes you go 'this is the place!' the moment you see it.

The vibe on the 1st floor outdoor terrace is seriously good. It's still too hot in the daytime these days though, so I sat inside — but once it gets cooler, I'm definitely having brunch out on that terrace :)

From the moment you step in, the distinctive, tasteful atmosphere just grabs your eyes. I walked in going 'wow, this is so pretty, I love it' — and it's not just the vibe, the brunch and dessert flavors are just as perfect, so it's the kind of place you fall for after one visit and want to keep coming back to. My pick for a Yeonnam-dong date spot!

What is Jam Jam like inside? A modern, monotone Yeonnam-dong café

Tucked in a quiet inner alley of Yeonnam-dong, Jam Jam gives off a modern impression from the outside alone. Step inside and the whole space is done in a clean monotone tone-and-manner interior — hip but comfortable at the same time.

You can tell real thought went into everything, from the lighting down to the smallest props, so no matter where you snap a photo, it turns into a great shot.

If you're after a slightly calmer, more sophisticated mood within Yeonnam-dong's usual charm, you'll love it the second you walk in. It's more than good enough for a date course or a hangout with friends, and it handles a wedding-invitation gathering vibe perfectly too — I feel like handing out wedding invites here would feel really nice.

What to order from the brunch menu at Jam Jam

Known as a Yeonnam-dong hotspot, Jam Jam is famous as a brunch café. The menu has photos, and just looking at them, the visuals alone got me excited about the taste.

After a long back-and-forth, I finally landed on my brunch order — and I think I picked really well :)

Fresh fruit pancake and butter croissant. Wow, the second they arrived they were so pretty and looked so delicious, I was hooked from the smell alone. Just looking at the photo tells you it's already good, no taste-test needed :)

What I really loved about Jam Jam's butter croissant is that the maple syrup and butter come served separately alongside the croissant. That means it never gets soggy, and you can mix and match to your own taste — such a thoughtful touch.

It had that classic croissant texture — crisp and flaky on the outside, moist inside — which I loved. Spreading on a bit of savory butter, then letting sweet, fragrant maple syrup soak in on top, gave me the full sweet-salty-savory experience. Butter and maple syrup really is a combo that can't fail.

Fresh fruit pancake: figs instead of strawberries, with Earl Grey jam

Jam Jam's fresh fruit pancake changes fruit by season. The photo shows strawberries, but it's not strawberry season right now, right? The fresh fruit seems to rotate seasonally — and I actually liked that even more.

So right now it comes with figs, and mmm — it was delicious! I loved that well-ripened fresh figs were piled on top of the fluffy pancake.

But the real highlight of this pancake was the Earl Grey jam. I ordered it without knowing about that, and wow — it pairs incredibly well and tastes amazing! That was the kick :) Unlike plain syrup that's just sweet, the subtle, fragrant Earl Grey flavor gave it a really refined, dessert-shop quality. Not overly sweet, with the fragrance lingering till the last bite — I finished every bit happily.

Is Jam Jam in Yeonnam-dong worth a second visit?

There are countless cafés and brunch spots in Yeonnam-dong, but places that nail vibe, taste, and visuals all at once are surprisingly hard to find. Jam Jam checked all three boxes perfectly.

We cleaned our plates completely, not a crumb left! That's how good it was :) I went back and forth between the French toast and the pancake, ended up with the pancake, and had zero regrets — next time I'll try the French toast too.
