Why I went all the way to Daegu for Siznique

Siznique (시즈니크) is a fresh-fruit cake shop with branches only in Seoul, Busan and Daegu, and the Daegu branch is in the basement of Shinsegae Department Store. Every time I went to Shinsegae Centum City in Busan, I wanted to try the Siznique mango cake downstairs. I kept thinking I'd buy one for an anniversary, and then I happened to travel to Daegu, so I stopped by Siznique at Shinsegae Daegu and brought a cake home 🤍

Getting to Siznique from Dongdaegu Station, and sell-out tips

Siznique Daegu is super easy to reach: get off at Dongdaegu Station, walk into Shinsegae Department Store right next door, and it's right there. I heard it opened when Shinsegae Daegu was renovated into Sweet Park! And it only exists in Seoul / Busan / Daegu!!!!

At Shinsegae Centum City, Siznique is all sold out if you go a bit late, and I heard the Daegu branch has the same sell-out chaos if you come late!! 😢 For an important day, I recommend reserving ahead!!!

Once you're inside Shinsegae, just take the escalator down to the basement.

And Siznique is right there as soon as you get down.

What cakes were in the Siznique showcase in early October?

In early October, the Siznique Daegu showcase was a peach / mango party. The colors were seriously 🥹🥺 I couldn't look away 😮💨 I also liked that they use dairy cream, so it isn't heavy or greasy.

I hear Siznique picks the two freshest "seasonal fruits" and "farms" its fresh-fruit desserts by season. Looking over the cakes before choosing, I was sure: this one is going to be delicious for sure.... I'm so curious what the next fruit will be....

When I went last week, it was early October, so they still had mango / peach! There was also a fig Wareureu. The cake sizes vary too: Wareureu / Mini / No. 1.

Look at how that mango looks, what am I supposed to do.... I wanted to take two home.... This is my Sungsimdang (Daejeon's famous bakery).

The mango is packed all the way up to the top.

But on the way I'd also had a Gongcha mango jewelry drink, and my boyfriend and I ate way too much mango this summer, so we decided to enjoy peach instead.

Siznique cooler bag packaging and candle prices

The Siznique cooler bag costs extra, and number and heart candles are bought separately at ₩3,500 each. I was going to eat it in the evening, so I asked for cooler bag packaging, and they carefully packed it top and bottom in the back! If you're traveling with it, I really recommend the cooler bag.

Siznique Peach Cake Mini, tasted on the train

What I bought was the Siznique Peach Cake Mini! I had no idea peaches could be sliced this thin and pretty... The look is so gorgeous, and the Siznique logo makes the cake feel even more upscale.

I'd been out and about the whole time and only took a bite on the train, so I couldn't photograph the inside! But it's full of cream, and full of peaches inside too. The plain, light cream with crisp peaches felt like a sign of the last days of summer..🥺🤍
