Bangi-dong date pub: bugak chips topped with corn ice cream, Jojomomo
In short
Jojomomo is a Korean pub (yori jujeom) on basement level B1 in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul, near Jamsil. At Jojomomo the writer ordered assorted bugak (crispy fried chips of rice, seaweed, beet, lotus root and kelp) and soju, received a welcome traditional liquor with crackers, and finished by topping the bugak with corn ice cream. For a quiet date or a second round in Jamsil's Bangi area, Jojomomo's assorted bugak and corn ice cream combo is well worth ordering.

The place I visited this time has such a great atmosphere that it was perfect for a date: Jojomomo in Bangi-dong, Jamsil! If you want a drink in Jamsil and a good mood to go with it, this is a nice place to stop by, haha.

Is Jojomomo in Bangi-dong a good pub for a date?
Jojomomo is a Korean pub (yori jujeom, a cooking-focused bar) in the basement of a building in Bangi-dong, with a comfortable yet moody feel. The shop is underground, and I loved the vibe the moment I walked in! It feels less like a loud, rowdy place and more like somewhere two people can talk and spend time, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a date spot :)

Waiting for Jojomomo via Tabling, with a claw machine nearby
Jojomomo has Tabling (a remote waitlist app), so at busy times like Friday and Saturday I'd recommend putting your name down! I'd suggest going as a second round: while you wait, burn off dinner at the claw machine right upstairs, then head to Bangi's famous Jojomomo for amazing snacks. Isn't that a perfect course?!

The mood is really good, isn't it~?? There were quite a lot of customers, so I took these photos when it thinned out a bit!

The inside of Jojomomo is a little dim, which looked great for a date, and I'd also recommend it for blind dates or groups 👍👍

We ordered the assorted bugak first! I figured it would be an easy thing to pick at while drinking, haha.

What seating does Jojomomo have?
Jojomomo has a nice variety: bar seats (dajji), 2-person tables and 6-person tables! Some people were drinking solo, and it suits dates and groups just as well, so it seems worth a visit at least once~

Does Jojomomo serve free snacks and a welcome drink?
At Jojomomo, crackers and a welcome drink come out by default after you order!

The look is insane.. tasty food next to tasty booze = perfect

The crunch of the crackers and the salad were both so good that we were enjoying ourselves before our order even arrived! I loved the traditional liquor served by default, and I liked that they even look after you with basic snacks 🫰

The restroom key at Jojomomo is a raccoon 🦝🦝 so cute, this too!!

Pick your own glass at Jojomomo, even for soju
We ordered soju at Jojomomo too, and we could choose our cup! Usually you only get that when you order a traditional liquor, so getting it with soju made me feel well treated••

What comes in Jojomomo's assorted bugak?
Jojomomo's assorted bugak came with small portions of rice (kimchi-flavored) bugak, seaweed bugak, beet bugak, lotus root bugak and kelp bugak. The first one tasted like the crispy edge of a kimchi pancake, fried insanely well. The menu says rice, but it tastes of kimchi, so I still don't know its proper name 😭

The seaweed bugak we all know and love! This is truly drinking food..;; even when I'm full I keep reaching for more..

A new texture, and my first time trying beet bugak. The color is pretty, and the chew was so good!

Lotus root bugak! Even if you hate lotus root, there's no way it won't taste good!!

The kelp bugak is insanely good too.. being able to taste several kinds of bugak in small amounts was really nice as a simple side for drinks!

How does corn ice cream taste on bugak chips?
Jojomomo's corn ice cream, eaten on top of the assorted bugak, was a perfect dessert finish. Partway through the bugak I wanted to wrap up like with dessert, so I ordered the corn ice cream as an extra.
I tried it on top of the bugak and it was sooo good. If you like the nutty, sweet taste of corn, I highly recommend it as a finisher! Even if you don't like sweet things, I recommend it. It's just so good ;)
Why Jojomomo is a bar worth visiting in Jamsil's Bangi area
When you're hunting for a pub around Jamsil and Bangi, tasty snacks matter, but you can't ignore the atmosphere either, right?! Jojomomo has a mood that's good for talking, so it suited a date course too :)

A good place for days when you want a drink with a friend or time with a partner somewhere with a nice mood! If atmosphere matters to you among Jamsil and Bangi pubs, I recommend Jojomomo, haha.
