I visited Orange Bagel (오렌지베이글), a big Suwon café known as one of the city's best bagel spots. Not long ago a friend of Dungi's mom let us try a chocolate baguette, and my husband and I have been converts ever since. I kept seeing chocolate baguettes all over social media, and when we finally went to Orange Bagel, which I'd wanted to visit, we ended up eating a chewy chocolate bagel!

What are the parking, exterior and interior like at Orange Bagel?
The parking lot at Orange Bagel is huge, which is an instant pass for me! Since we come with the baby, we have to drive, and the big lot meant no parking stress~~ And the red brick building looks so pretty from outside!
The inside has atmosphere too! It gave me the exact vibe of Brooklyn when I visited New York! It's great for photos and just right for enjoying bagels and coffee haha.

Orange Bagel is a really big bakery café. There's plenty of seating, but the area where the bagels are made is also enormous!
They say the dough is started by hand every dawn, then aged and fermented, and that French and Canadian flour gives the bagels a chewy yet clean, mild texture!

What bagels does Orange Bagel have?
Orange Bagel is a bagel specialist, right? So let's start by browsing the bagels!! The basic ones were already very varied, and there were so many distinctive, delicious-looking ones that I couldn't decide what to eat, seriously T_T

Every single one is distinctive, right? There were so many I'd never seen before that I wondered how much care went into developing these bagels!
Seeing the crab shrimp bagel reminded me of one I ate in Seattle!!! Okay, I don't know, you're my pick...!
The sandwich-style bagels that work as a meal were in the refrigerated showcase. Don't they look gorgeous??

Drinks, soup and discount events at Orange Bagel
Orange Bagel even has wine by the glass and beer, so it really feels like Brooklyn!! It's not just a café for bread and coffee, but a space with a date-and-outing mood!

True to its name, Orange Bagel has lots of signature drinks made with orange. You can choose your coffee beans, and they sell soup too, so as a Suwon bakery café it's just right for a brunch of bagels and soup.

There were also various discount events. If you qualify, don't miss them!
Hang in there, Suwon Samseong (Suwon Samsung Bluewings)....!!! There was a drink themed on the Bluewings, and they give a discount if you show you're a Bluewings fan haha.
Tips for Orange Bagel: oven, pager, baby chairs
If you want your bagel warmed up at Orange Bagel, there's an oven next to the stairs going up, so you can heat it yourself! Lots of people were warming their bagels~
The building has three floors, but the pager signal only reaches up to the 2nd floor, so please be careful if you sit on the 3rd!
Going up to the 2nd floor to find a seat, and those stairs, what even are they, the New York vibe is exploding... Now I want to go back to New York again~~~
There's a service table on the 2nd floor too, so you can use it comfortably without going all the way down to the 1st floor.
The 2nd floor has a great feel too~~ like a dining restaurant! I thought bagels were only for young people, but all kinds of people, men and women of every age and whole families, were enjoying them, so there's a reason Orange Bagel is famous~
Unlike the red brick, the 2nd floor is full of exposed concrete, so it feels like a Brooklyn factory café, you know? Peco loved the doggy painting in the back hahahahahahaha
There are baby chairs on every floor, so it's a good café to visit with a baby! You eat your baby food~ Mom and Dad will eat delicious bagels hehe.

What we ordered at Orange Bagel, and the prices
- Basil bagel ₩4,700
- Deep Choco bagel ₩6,300
- Crab shrimp bagel ₩8,500
- Mushroom cream soup ₩7,500
- Iced café latte ₩6,000
- Arizona iced tea ₩5,400

What a fantastic group shot! We were on an empty stomach in the morning and so hungry, you know? We had to try a basic bagel, so the basil bagel! Then a bagel that works as a meal, so the crab shrimp bagel! And dessert too, right? So the Deep Choco bagel hahahahahahahahahaha
Mushroom cream soup and a dipped basil bagel
The mushroom cream soup at Orange Bagel is thick, nutty and smooth, the kind you have to dip a bagel into. It's a bagel place, but warm soup first! I'm not a big soup person, and especially not with mushrooms! But this soup was so nutty, you know? Salt was served alongside, but the seasoning was already just right.
I tore into the moist basil bagel and it was so chewy and delicious! It wasn't a dry, crumbly bagel but a moist one, so I loved it!
So I dipped it straight into the soup haha. Perfect brunch combo, right?

Crab shrimp bagel, praised even by my husband who doesn't like seafood
The crab shrimp bagel at Orange Bagel is a meal-style bagel with plump shrimp and plump crab meat in a slightly spicy sauce. My husband was torn between this and the bacon egg mayo, so I, a shrimp lover, picked it without hesitation. Seafood fans can't help but like it!
I figured it would taste even better held in the hand, so we shared it half and half like a good couple, and it's so good T_T The sauce had a slight kick and the shrimp popped in every bite!!! Even my husband, who isn't really into seafood, said it was delicious and praised me for choosing well (?) hahahahahahahahaha
How is the Deep Choco bagel different from a choco baguette?
The menu item I was most curious about was the Deep Choco bagel! The choco baguette we had recently was so good that I wondered what it would be like as a bagel haha.

The Deep Choco bagel at Orange Bagel has a crisp chocolate coating and chocolate chips on the outside and a rich, brownie-like chocolate filling inside, so the chocolate flavor hit strongly from the first bite! If the choco baguette was crunchy, the Deep Choco bagel feels heavier and richer as a dessert thanks to that signature bagel chew.
Iced café latte
And of course the coffee! The iced café latte at Orange Bagel wasn't a watery latte; the beans were nutty and the milk was nutty too, so the balance between them made it a delicious latte~~

Orange Bagel's 1st-floor goods shop and Suwon Samseong merch
The 1st floor of Orange Bagel is set up like a select shop with small goods, so browsing is fun too. It felt like a New York souvenir shop! When you travel you have to stop by places like this, right? hahahahahahahahaha
Orange Bagel is a Suwon Samseong sponsor, so of course there was Suwon Samseong merch too.

Who Orange Bagel in Suwon is for
Choco baguettes are popular so I've had them a few times, but this time I was glad to find a choco bagel at Orange Bagel haha. The chewy bagel texture and rich chocolate went together better than I expected, and with meal-style options like the crab shrimp bagel, we covered brunch and dessert in one go hahaha.
Thanks to the big parking lot and the stylish space, it's a great pick for a date or weekend outing! If you're looking for a good bakery or bagel place in Suwon, and especially if you love choco baguettes, do try the Deep Choco bagel at Orange Bagel haha.
