Sejong restaurant for a meal with friends: combo pho at Mekong Thai
In short
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant in the Sejong Machi building in Eojin-dong, Sejong. The writer visited with a friend who lives in Sejong after the lunch hour, and they shared combo pho (13,900 won), nasi goreng (14,900 won) and seafood chajo, or fried spring rolls (6,500 won), enjoying the rich yet refreshing broth, the smoky nasi goreng and the freshly fried, crispy chajo. It was Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch, a restaurant where you can enjoy Vietnamese and Thai food 💛 Let me show you how I enjoyed the Vietnamese pho, nasi goreng and chajo (fried spring rolls).

Where is Mekong Thai and how is the parking?

Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is in the Sejong Machi building in Eojin-dong, Sejong. Both Sejong Arboretum and Sejong Lake Park are close, so drop by if you're looking for a restaurant nearby.

You can park in the Sejong Machi underground garage! They register your free parking after the meal, so it's easy to visit :)
What is the atmosphere and seating like inside Mekong Thai?

The inside of Mekong Thai had an exotic, unusual feel ✨✨ As you'd expect from a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant, it felt like being on a trip abroad.

Mekong Thai has a variety of tables for 2, 4 and 6 people, and high chairs are ready too. Eating out with a child is no problem.

I visited after the lunch rush, but at lunchtime every seat fills up, it's that popular. There's even a wait, so this is a real Sejong Lake Park favorite 👍
What's on the Mekong Thai menu?

As a Sejong Asian restaurant, Mekong Thai's signature dishes are pho, pad thai, fried rice and more! The pho alone comes in many versions: beef, brisket, tom yum, seafood, brisket cut (chadol), Thai garlic and so on.

There's also tom yum goong, bun cha and stir-fried water spinach, and for sides, meat chajo, seafood chajo and a Mekong Thai set.

And the big surprise: they sell Vietnamese fresh rolls too?! They're good for a diet and good for your health, so give them a try~~
The complimentary sides are pickled onions, pickled radish (danmuji) and pho sauce.
How does the Mekong Thai combo pho (₩13,900) taste?

The first main dish, the combo pho, arrived 💛 It comes with both beef chuck and brisket, so you get a variety of flavors.

The meat was so generous, haha. It's a filling amount even for two friends sharing.

They say the pho gets its deeper flavor from a rich brisket broth with more than 10 kinds of herbs and medicinal ingredients 😁 It's even better with the red chili sauce and the black hoisin sauce.

I loved that the broth was rich yet refreshing ❤️ It had depth without being heavy, and eaten together with bean sprouts, rice noodles and meat, it was heavenly.
What does Mekong Thai nasi goreng (₩14,900) taste like?

The second dish I ordered was nasi goreng ❤️ It's fried rice with chicken thigh, shrimp, onion and Mekong Thai's own sweet goreng sauce.

It was my first time trying nasi goreng, and the savory depth and smoky wok flavor were the best!!! Salty yet spicy, with a sauce any Korean would like, I was really satisfied.

I topped it with a fried egg and shrimp chips, and that combo was great 👍 Adding the spicy chili oil really woke up my appetite.
Mekong Thai seafood chajo (₩6,500), 4 pieces

The last side dish I ordered was the seafood chajo, 4 pieces! Chajo (fried spring rolls) are made by wrapping chopped glass noodles, vegetables and seafood in rice paper and frying until crispy.
The freshly fried seafood chajo was totally crispy, and the seafood inside tasted nicely nutty. If you visit Mekong Thai, I really recommend trying the chajo too!!
Is Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch worth another visit?
It had been a while since I'd seen my friend, and we had a great meal at Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch, an Eojin-dong favorite in Sejong! The Vietnamese beef pho, nasi goreng and chajo were all so good that I plan to go again~ 😁😁 If you're looking for a restaurant near Sejong Lake Park or Sejong Arboretum, I recommend Mekong Thai :)
