Hanwoo BBQ near Jeju Airport right after break time: Dolgyeok Hanwoo
In short
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) and black pork BBQ restaurant in Yeon-dong, Jeju City, inside Nuwemaru Jewon, about 10 minutes from Jeju Airport. Arriving right after break time, the writer grilled three cuts in turn: hanwoo galbisal (boneless rib meat) and Manong (Jeju garlic) galbisal at ₩27,000 each, and black pork kkakttuk moksal (cubed neck) at ₩22,000. The free beef seaweed soup and the carrot juice after the meal were just as satisfying. Even as a picky meat lover, the writer found all three cuts delicious and recommends Dolgyeok Hanwoo.

Where to park at Dolgyeok Hanwoo

There's room for about 4 cars right in front of the restaurant, and when it's full you can use a nearby paid lot, so I figured visiting wouldn't be a problem. It's inside Nuwemaru Jewon, 10 minutes from Jeju Airport, so it's easy to reach too.
It's famous as a Jeju beef and hanwoo spot, and even the YouTuber Tzuyang has been, so I went right after break time ended. Seeing customers pour in so quickly told me once more that it's a local Jeju favorite ✌️

Inside Dolgyeok Hanwoo: seating and atmosphere
Here's what the tables look like inside. If you're coming with a group, I'd book ahead~ There were also framed pictures with tigers and a very Korean feel.
They had baby chairs too, and a country-of-origin board that I checked off, of course.
Dolgyeok Hanwoo menu and side dishes

There's a menu at every table, with grilled meats, side dishes and meal items all on offer, and

here are the drinks and the review event, for your reference~

Once we sat down, they brought water and wet towels, and small plates and cutlery were already set on the table.
The side dishes came out fast too, with a neat lineup, and personally I was super, super happy with the variety of sauces (?) haha.
Free beef seaweed soup, with refills
Another thing I loved: beef seaweed soup (miyeokguk) comes free as standard! Even though it's packed with meat, the broth isn't greasy but clean, and the seasoning is just right, so it was really good. Refills are allowed, too. Big thumbs up for a Jeju beef spot.

What we ordered at Dolgyeok Hanwoo and prices
We ordered three kinds of meat that day.
- Hanwoo galbisal (rib meat) ₩27,000
- Manong galbisal (garlic-marinated rib meat) ₩27,000
- Black pork cube neck ₩22,000

In order: hanwoo galbisal, Manong galbisal and black pork cube neck. Every single one looked amazing, a real Jeju beef gem.

A dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather statue) sits in the middle of the meat for that Jeju vibe haha

They set up the charcoal and grill and put a special sauce on top, and that thing is the best, so savory.

How does the hanwoo galbisal taste?
We started with the unseasoned raw galbi, which came as a mix of chuck flap tail (salchi) and galbisal. Neither cut was tough at all, they just melt T_T
A staff member grilled the first batch for us and even paired the cooked meat with sauces, and wow, the recommended combo really is the best.

The menu also lists tasty pairings in detail, so it's worth following them one by one.
Manong garlic galbisal vs. plain galbisal: what's the difference?
Next on the grill: Manong galbisal!! I wanted to grill it together with the garlic pieces and sauce that came with it, but they kept slipping through the grill holes, so it's a little tricky lol
I know it's a painfully cliché thing to say.. but it melted away in my mouth even more than the plain galbisal I had first, and the seasoning isn't overly strong. Delicious.
I also ordered a bowl of rice to eat with it and the combo was great, and the seaweed soup was once again the best.

Is the black pork cubed neck worth ordering?
The last meat we tried was the black pork cube neck. Of course hanwoo >> black pork, but you can't skip black pork in Jeju, right?!
The neck meat came cut into bite-sized cubes. They're thick, so you might worry they'd be chewy, but not at all. Juicy and delicious.
Carrot juice to finish: Dolgyeok Hanwoo verdict
Dolgyeok Hanwoo also gives you carrot juice after the meal, a healthy dessert to finish. If you want beef or hanwoo in Jeju, I recommend it!!
I'm a picky carnivore and I don't call just any meat delicious, but I liked all three cuts I had at Dolgyeok Hanwoo, so you won't regret going, really ⭐️
