Yongin shaman shrine: family reading with my mom at Jeon Eungsun Bosal
In short
Jeon Eungsun Bosal is a fortune teller's shrine set up in a room of a private home on Hanteo-ro 152beon-gil in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. Brought along by her mom for a family reading, the writer heard about an elder relative's health, the way mother and child speak to each other, and got advice on her current work. Jeon Eungsun Bosal felt less like a scary fortune teller and more like an older sister, aunt or teacher who scolds you and sets you straight.

Second visit to a Yongin fortune teller, this time with mom
So today I'm writing about my visit to a fortune teller in Yongin. This was only my second time in my life visiting one — the first was back in college maybe?! I just followed my mom then and sat on the sofa the whole time. This time too, mom suddenly said let's go, and off we went, me being dragged along again haha.
Honestly, when you just hear about fortune tellers, it sounds so scary, right? Even I was like, ugh I don't want to go, I don't want to go, before we left because mom kept insisting. But once we got there — surprisingly?! — I didn't feel scared at all. But haha, what Jeon Eungsun Bosal actually said was... honestly kind of scary haha.
Anyway, we went for a family reading, and this is my review of the Yongin fortune teller Jeon Eungsun Bosal read for us! Let me write it up :)

A shrine set up inside a home — what was the atmosphere like?
Jeon Eungsun Bosal's shrine turned out to be set up inside a house. It's arranged in a room like this, and when we arrived, another guest was just coming out. The moment I saw Jeon Eungsun Bosal, she just gave off a next-door-aunt vibe — not scary at all, for what it's worth. Maybe it's different for everyone, though, because my mom said this kind of atmosphere always feels scary to her. Huh, is that so?!

An appointment that finally opened up a month later, and the first words
It was just kind of uncanny, honestly. Earlier, I'd contacted Jeon Eungsun Bosal to try to visit, but she's apparently so famous among Yongin fortune tellers that she was too busy and told us to come later. Then a month later — mom suddenly said, we have to go today! I was like, huh?! We contacted her right away, and even though she was actually supposed to be heading off to do a gut (shamanic ritual), she made time to see us one last time before that.
But the moment she saw my mom, she said, a mourning banner has gone up! Someone in the family is going to pass away this year or next, ooh, it's cold, it's so cold, she kept saying. So many thoughts ran through both my mom's and my mind. As you know, both my grandmother and my dad haven't been in great health, and she told us that person passing away would let the house breathe a little easier again.

"Take a picture of the baby clothes too!" — what she told mom
Here's the story behind these photos — suddenly Jeon Eungsun Bosal opened a door and said, take a picture of the baby clothes too! I was like, sure sure, and took the photo, and then she said the baby keeps saying mom is mean, hahahahahahahaha I completely lost it laughing.
She said mom had really been mean to the kids, and that the reason the kids turned out so well anyway is exactly why mom should treat them better. Of course — I'm doing so well that I'm struggling right now hahahaha.
But she also spoke to what was in my heart. Ever since I was little, I really hated how mean and how impossible to communicate with my mom could be, and she said if mom keeps talking like that, the kids will really leave someday. She said it's something mom shouldn't do, but mom's not the type not to do it hahahahaha, calling her a general as she said it, looking right at her. It was funny but also kind of sad-funny, so many emotions crossing at once.

"Just wait a little longer" — the words meant for me
And at the end, looking at me, she said, what you're doing right now isn't going well, is it?! Just wait a little longer. Just wait a little longer — you must have had so many things you wanted to do, and you're someone with so many things you still want to do, she said, and before I knew it tears just came pouring out.
That's so true. After getting married, there really are so many things I hold back from doing because I can't. But she reached right in and touched the part of me living in this moment, reminding me not to have regrets, since even this time will be something I can't feel again once it's passed.
How I felt after visiting Yongin fortune teller Jeon Eungsun Bosal
Well, I haven't visited that many fortune tellers in Yongin, but she taught, informed, and even scolded us — sometimes like an older sister, sometimes like an aunt, sometimes like a teacher haha.
My heart felt heavy afterward, but at least now I know why, so I decided to hold on and try to live well. I feel like I've sorted out my feelings quite a bit too! If you need a family reading, a personal reading, or someone to talk through your worries with, I hope you'll reach out to Yongin fortune teller Jeon Eungsun Bosal!
