Seodaemun hair salon red-tone-cancelling brown dye: Salon de Supullim

I hadn't been taking care of my hair for so long that the red tones creeping in were really starting to bother me. I went to Salon de Supullim, a hair salon near Seodaemun Station, and got a red-free brown dye haha. Part of it was that it's close to my office, but the reviews were so good I decided to check it out!

Where is Salon de Supullim and how do you book?

Salon de Supullim is at 32 Tongil-ro 9an-gil, 3rd floor, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, one minute from Seodaemun Station Exit 2. Hours are 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM, closed Tuesdays, and you can book through Naver Place. I made my reservation with the deputy director.

Salon de Supullim is in the same building as the Seodaemun branch of Yeoptteok (a spicy rice cake chain)! Being so close to the station made it super convenient to visit.

Going up to the 3rd floor, there's a spacious, clean salon — there were way more customers than I expected, and the shop was bigger than I thought too,,?!

They greeted me kindly right away and confirmed my reservation, which put me in a good mood.

A L'Oréal Professionnel premium partner salon

Salon de Supullim is apparently a L'Oréal Professionnel premium partner. I already knew L'Oréal dye was well-regarded, but it was reassuring to see they only use good products! Damage was my biggest worry with dyeing, so hearing it was L'Oréal gave me confidence.

The waiting area was clean and almost every seat was taken,,! I went during rush hour after work and it was pretty packed. From the director to every designer, everyone was hardworking and kind.

I visited Salon de Supullim for a tone-down dye! I hadn't taken care of my hair after dyeing it last year, so it had gotten blotchy and messy ,, ㅠ_ㅠ Really didn't want to look at it,,,

Here's a photo of my hair before dyeing! You can see the hair is basically pretty damaged, and overall it's blotchy plus reddish, right? I asked them to tone down the red as much as possible! Red tones make your face look sallow...

Scalp protectant first, and seeing the exact dye being used

They started by spraying on scalp protectant, then showed me the actual L'Oréal product they'd use. A lot of salons charge separately for regular vs. premium dye, right? But you can never really tell unless you see it with your own eyes ㅠㅠ Having them show it to me directly put me more at ease!

The deputy director, with 17 years of experience, applied the dye really fast, sak-sak haha. Her hands were seriously,, quick,,,

Actually, right before this, I'd gotten a chemical burn on the back of my neck during a previous dye job that itched for months and left a scar ,, ㅠㅠ so I was kind of scared to dye again. But maybe because they used good products, I didn't feel much irritation at all, and my scalp didn't sting!

They finished with a clinic treatment. My hair was already dry and brittle so that was stressing me out 💦 but getting a clinic treatment right after dyeing eased my worries about damage and was totally healing.

Clean tone-down dye complete at Salon de Supullim! The red tones I was worried about are gone and my hair looks healthier too. I wanted a color that was neither black nor brown, and the deputy director matched it perfectly 🥹 I get now why they have so many reviews and repeat visitors,,

It's been a while since I dyed my hair so it was refreshing, and usually dyeing damages my hair and causes skin trouble, but none of that happened this time — I'm so satisfied! If you want to dye your hair but want minimal damage, I recommend Salon de Supullim haha.
