Myeongdong hair salon ash-brown tone-down and head spa: Yerideu

Since I keep my hair brown, my roots grow out every two to three months, so I’ve been coloring it regularly. But with all that coloring, my hair texture started getting damaged~ This time, I trusted Yerideu Hair (예리드) in Myeongdong because they said their clinic coloring minimizes damage.

This is how it looked after the treatment—what do you think? There isn’t a bit of frizz, and the color came out so nicely, right?

How to get to Yerideu from Myeongdong Station

Yerideu Hair is a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 9, so it’s super convenient from the station haha.

• It is 135 m from Myeongdong Station Exit 9. Walk straight past L7 Hotel; it is on the third floor of the building beside Hazzys on the left.
• From Myeongdong Station Exit 8, it is a two-minute, 138 m walk. Pass Olive Young, turn right around Nine Tree Hotel, and continue straight; it is on the third floor of the building beside the GS25 convenience store.

Level 7 ash-brown clinic color

Clinic coloring costs ₩190,000 for shoulder-length hair.

The weather has been getting chilly, and because my hair is colored, blow-drying and using a flat iron keep making it lighter. I said I wanted to tone it down this time, but I didn’t want it too dark, so I chose level 7 ash brown haha. The designer was incredibly kind and thorough during the consultation, so I was very thankful.

Hair condition before coloring

Here is the before photo. You can see how much my roots had grown out even from the front, right?

Up close, it looked much patchier ㅠㅠ The outer layer, especially where the blow-dryer and flat iron hit, was very damaged and had faded much more, so it looked messy.

A calmer color after the tone-down

Ta-da~ Here is the after photo. Isn’t it insane? Can you see how my hair actually looks healthier even after coloring? The scalp protector and clinic treatment definitely seem to have made a difference.

Even from an angle under the lights, all the patchiness on the outside was completely corrected, and the color was toned down so beautifully and calmly—I was so pleased! I especially dislike yellow or red tones, so they did it in ash brown, and it was exactly the color I wanted. Now that the weather is cooler, I’m totally satisfied with the tone-down. 🖤

With darker hair, my whole look feels a little more subdued too haha.

Basic head spa after coloring

The basic head spa costs ₩150,000. Oh, and one thing I liked about Yerideu was that it is a hair salon that also offers head-spa treatments~

I asked about it after seeing the sign out front, and they also explained the head-spa treatment~ I had it while my hair was being washed after coloring, and it was truly pure healing!!

This water-fall stream steadily washes over the scalp, and rinsing with warm water followed by steam felt so, so good. My workplace is near Myeongdong, so I visited after work, and it felt like all my fatigue melted away. Scalp care is hard to do properly on your own, so I think getting care with professional equipment like this is great. Best of all, you can get a head spa while you are already having your hair done, without making separate time for it—two birds with one stone, right? 🖤
