Salt bread bakery in Yeongjongdo: dujjonku to go, 5PM sunset hour
In short
5PM sunset hour is a salt bread bakery café in the Yeongjong Sky City KCC Switzen shopping complex on Eunhasu-ro, Yeongjongdo, Incheon. On a couples' get-together trip to Yeongjongdo, the writer took away 4 salt breads and a dujjonku (Dubai chewy cookie) from 5PM sunset hour and ate the 3,000-won plain salt bread and the garlic salt bread in the car while taking in the Yeongjongdo scenery. With a crisp crust, a soft inside, big salt grains and plenty of garlic, 5PM sunset hour is a must-stop if you're buying salt bread on Yeongjongdo.

A salt bread spot we stopped at on our couples' meetup in Yeongjongdo: 5PM sunset hour
5PM sunset hour is a bakery café known for its salt bread on Yeongjongdo. I recently went to Yeongjongdo for a couples' meetup~~ hehe. There are so many good restaurants around there, and about a zillion cafés. Among them, I visited 5PM sunset hour, famous for its salt bread!

My husband (Mr. Shin) seriously loves salt bread, okay? I started eating it with him and fell right into its charms.. So whenever we go somewhere new, I always stop at the area's famous bakery café and try the salt bread! That day we had also taken away salt bread from Jayeondo, and.. I came to buy the 5PM sunset hour salt bread too..

What time does 5PM sunset hour open?
5PM sunset hour opens at 7 AM. That's a really early opening time..! Perfect for office workers to grab bread or a drink for breakfast before work-

Oh, and 5PM sunset hour also has terrace seats. Best to sit out there in autumn, with a breeze blowing like now!

Where the name Sunset Hour comes from
The shop name is a bit hard to guess, right? Sunset Hour... what a lovely name.. The owner actually lived in Porto as a child, and the people there would end their day watching the sunset! That left such an impression that it became the shop's name... wow.. so romantic~

5PM sunset hour menu and seating
5PM sunset hour has not just salt bread but also financiers, cookies, butter rice cake (beotteok) and dujjonku (a chewy Dubai-style cookie). This is the dessert café that has everything, I tell you..!

There are set menus too, which I like. A nice place to come for a light breakfast or lunch! The shop isn't big, but there are seats by the big window, so it's good alone or for a quiet time with a friend :)

This is the 5PM sunset hour menu board. The bread is all tasty, but I hear the drinks are great too. Especially hand-drip coffee with freshly baked bread... need I say more..!!!

I wanted to buy a bagel today too, but they were sold out and only salt bread was left, so I was a little disappointed, sob..ㅠㅠ

There are also various drinks, donuts and sandwiches, so take your time looking around-

It's not a big space, but that makes it even more charming! From the little props to the cleanliness, I loved every bit of it. You can see the owner's mood in it, and you can feel how much they love the shop, you know?

Taking away 4 salt breads and a dujjonku
Today I'm sweeping up several kinds of salt bread at 5PM sunset hour hehe.. I wanted a drink too, but I'd already had two coffees from Mega Coffee, so that was an issue..^^

Hahaha, "If you want to eat it, ask your mom's permission first! It's free!!!" What generosity from the owner~~ Here, every day is Halloween, you know~~
Mr. Shin is waiting outside. Let's pack up quick and go!!!

I neatly bought 4 salt breads and a dujjonku. The dujjonku normally has to be reserved online in advance, but there was stock when I went, so I just grabbed it.

How does the 5PM sunset hour plain salt bread taste? (₩3,000)
The 5PM sunset hour plain salt bread is ₩3,000, crispy outside and moist inside. I wondered which to eat first, but of course.. we start with the classic plain one.

The plain salt bread (₩3,000) has a very kind price. And the size is even kinder. Huge means hugely delicious!!!!!

How does salt bread taste eaten in the car while looking at the Yeongjongdo view? Why even ask, it's just insanely good..

Crispy outside, moist inside, and the butter flavor is crazy.

Especially the dough inside is chewy... and the saltiness is honestly just right.

Did you know salt bread tastes even better torn apart layer by layer like this? Heh..

See the big chunks of salt? The 5PM sunset hour plain salt bread gets a full five out of five from me, a real pass.
Garlic salt bread packed with garlic
The 5PM sunset hour garlic salt bread doesn't skimp on garlic, and it was moist and sweet. One plain isn't enough... let's call up the next batter..

This one's the garlic one!! The smell alone is supreme.. Doesn't it look kind of cute? Like a little potato... totally my style..? They don't skimp on the garlic, so really..... just buy it, no questions. Moist, sweet and so good.

5PM sunset hour is good for watching the sunset and the bakery is excellent, so if you go to Yeongjongdo, please do visit..!!!
