Central Site Yeonnam is a hand-drip coffee shop in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, about 450m from Exit 3 of Hongik Univ. Station. After smelling the single-origin beans in person, we chose two cups — the 2021 COE #5 Awarded Lot and Entre Volcanes — watched them brewed from the seats in front of the bar, and added a soft tiramisu. Sitting on the Central Site Yeonnam rooftop with the coffee was the part that stayed with us longest.
Hey Joji is a Western-style restaurant in a Yeonnam-dong alley in Mapo, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 3. Arriving at 4pm, between late lunch and early dinner, the writer found only about 30% of the seats taken and ordered the garlic squid oil pasta and the duck steak cream risotto. The pasta was the reason for the visit, but the creamy risotto with its firm, al dente grains was the plate worth coming back for.
