Anseong large café for milk cream salt bread with a baby: Chat Baker

Here's my review of Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café, where both the coffee and the bakery are excellent. My husband, our baby and I stopped by while traveling in Anseong, and the parking was spacious and there was even floor seating, which was so nice!

10 minutes by car from Starfield Anseong, with free parking

Chat Baker is a large bakery café on Seodong-daero in Gongdo-eup, Anseong. We had lunch at Starfield Anseong, spent some time there, and then came over to Chat Baker! It's only 10 minutes by car, and the parking lot was spacious and free, which made it really convenient.

It's a large café, but the interior is so pretty...

How much bread does Chat Baker bake each day?

True to its reputation as a bakery hotspot, there were so many kinds of bread — ciabatta, salt bread, croissants, all of it looked delicious, and it was so hard to choose... ㅜ.ㅜ I also liked that everything was kept inside a showcase, which felt hygienic.

There were whole cakes too,

and they even had dujjonkku (thick chewy cookies) haha. There was also Dubai salt bread, and I'm regretting not getting it...

There was even loaf bread... I've been to a lot of large bakery cafés, and this place really has so many kinds haha. And the only downside is that everything looks so good it's hard to choose... ㅠㅅㅠ

What we ordered at Chat Baker, and what it cost

Chat Baker is apparently famous for brunch too, but since we'd already eaten, we skipped it ㅠ Next time I want to try brunch here. This time we ordered

• Americano ₩5,900
• Oatly almond latte (iced only) ₩7,000
• Milk cream salt bread ₩4,500
• Layered croissant ₩5,800

That's what we got!

After ordering, I noticed there was sample salt bread right next to the counter 🥐 the blessing of bread never ends

First or second floor? The first floor is easier with a stroller

The 1st floor of Chat Baker also has a nice wide space, so anyone with a stroller or wheelchair who might find the stairs difficult should be fine using the 1st floor! There's water flowing, which gives it a cool feeling 🫧

Going up the stairs next to it takes you to the 2nd floor space

The café's background music was really good too, and there were so many LPs on display like this. My husband liked one of the songs so much he looked it up and saved it haha. Anyway, on the 2nd floor there's

a modern-feeling space,

and a wood-toned space too. There's even the fun of picking a spot to match your taste 🛋️

Since we visited with our baby, we sat in Chat Baker's floor seating! Parents raising babies will know just how great this is 😌 And can you see the green view over there... wood + black + green view + floor seating says it all. The seat was so comfortable, it was proper healing time.

How did the coffee and the bread taste?

The coffee and bakery items we ordered! Honestly, since it's a large café, I didn't expect much, but the Americano was actually delicious...? It wasn't strongly acidic, and it felt smooth like hand-drip coffee, with layers of aroma.

And then, huh... I tried the Oatly almond latte and wow, this is a real wow ㅠㅠㅠ It's one of the coffees that shocked me the most. It had a bit of an Almond Breeze taste, but it wasn't too light — it was appropriately rich with a smooth coffee aroma coming through, nutty and sweet but not too sweet... I've written way too much detail, but if I lived nearby I really think I'd come for this all the time ㅠㅅㅠ

Hahaha I was eating and it was so good I immediately picked up my camera. Wait, they're good at bread too..... I ate a piece of the layered croissant and was amazed. It's not just layered on the outside — the pastry is stacked layer upon layer so it really feels like a thousand layers, that kind of croissant, and the butter flavor was great too. The milk cream salt bread was crispy, and the cream inside was moist and sweet ㅠㅠㅠㅠ not the cheap, dry kind of cream but a flavorful, soft one ㅠㅠ I want to eat it again, I'm crying ㅠㅠㅠ

Looking for a large café near Anseong or Pyeongtaek?

Even the bathroom at Chat Baker is pretty... and with that, if you're looking for a café near Anseong or Pyeongtaek, I recommend this one!!! I don't usually like large cafés, but this place is different — the interior is pretty and both the coffee and the bread are genuinely, genuinely delicious... If I lived nearby I'd come often ㅠ Next time I go to Anseong, I'm definitely coming back! Have a delicious and lovely time at the pretty, tasty Chat Baker brunch café ☕️
