Wondang bakery café on a humid day: mango ade & mango cake, Baedagol

Heading to Baedagol Bakery House in Wondang on a humid summer day

I stopped by Baedagol Bakery House (배다골베이커리하우스), a café in Wondang, Goyang, for the first time in a while, and the short version is: another big success today. Why is the weather so humid lately, somebody save me.. ㅠㅠ But the walk to something yummy is always exciting!

After I parked and got out, a bunch of magpies were lined up on the power line, so cute, total healing haha

It was so dark out that the photos don't capture the place at all lol. Outdoor tables are tough in summer like this, but on a nice day I bet sitting at the tables outside Baedagol Bakery House feels like a picnic.

The pine tree before the entrance looked great, and judging by the entrance banner, mango drinks and desserts seem to be the main attraction now that it's mango season.

Is Baedagol Bakery House dog-friendly?

There was a sign at the entrance saying dogs must be on a leash. Dogs can be outside with you, but they apparently can't come indoors.

There are tables to the right of the entrance.. maybe because it was dark, they looked extra atmospheric. Next time, on a nice day, I'm sitting there lol

Right as you walk in, there are blankets thoughtfully set out on the left, and on the right mangoes are piled up sooo many. It reminded me of the time I bought a whole box of mangoes and struggled to peel them.. haha

What we ordered and the free-bread receipt review event

At Baedagol Bakery House I ordered the fresh mango ade and an americano. hahahahaha Baedagol really seems to be good at giving seasonal drinks cute names.

They also run a Naver receipt review event: write a review with 3 photos (required) and you get 1 free bread. The price of the bread doesn't matter, but you have to buy bread and a drink first to take part. Wi-Fi is easy too, with a QR code in front of the counter.

Facilities at Baedagol Bakery House: oven, high chairs, restroom

The service table on the left has paper cups, syrup, napkins, wet wipes.. and even an oven, so it's perfect for warming up your bread.

The 4-person window table looked nice too, and past the service table, in front of the restroom on the left, there were high chairs. The restroom was super clean, which I loved. Tasty food plus a well-kept restroom is just perfect, no?..

1st floor or 2nd floor: which seats are better?

The 1st floor of Baedagol Bakery House has a great mood and the tables aren't crammed together. There were tables for all sorts of group sizes lol Great for chatting with friends lol

Upstairs there are even private rooms, so it should work for bigger groups too! If you want to spend quiet time, I'd definitely recommend the 2nd floor. Two thumbs up. ㅡ.ㅡ Personally, though, I liked the 1st floor better haha

How the fresh mango ade and mango cake tasted

Ta-da, here are the desserts, drink and coffee I ordered at Baedagol Bakery House. The cakes are a mango cake slice and a fresh cream Basque cheesecake! Aren't the colors of the ade so pretty too? lol

The fresh mango ade came with fresh mango plopped right on top, and I was in such a good mood, you know? I was going to get a chocolate cake, but I suddenly wanted Basque cheesecake instead.. First I set the mango down on a plate, cut it up with a knife, and nom nom nom, so good.

hahahahaha A yellow mango party. Totally. 💛💛 Baedagol Bakery House was top-notch in both mood and taste today, so if you're looking for a café near Wondang, I highly recommend it, and I'd definitely go back!

A frog and a narrow-mouthed toad on the way home

Wait.. the frog I found on the way home, why is it so tiny and cute... Then while walking I also ran into a narrow-mouthed toad (맹꽁이, maengkkongi). Its croaking was loud and chaotic.. but this guy was seriously round and cute..
