Paju café on a day out with Mom: mango-piled bingsu, Fruit Forest
In short
Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store (과일의숲 파주직영점) is a fruit dessert café on Dolgoji-gil near Simhaksan in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a Paju outing with her mother, the writer stopped by after lunch. After seeing fresh mangoes on display, she chose the fresh mango snow bingsu (shaved-ice dessert) for 2–3 people at 28,000 won, which came with big mango chunks nearly covering the ice and mango sauce served on the side. For cold mango bingsu in summer near Simhaksan or Paju Premium Outlets, Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store is worth a stop at least once.

I took a day trip to Paju with my mom. After lunch at Deulkkot Ssambap (a leaf-wrap rice restaurant), we wanted something cold for dessert, so I searched for cafés nearby and found Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store (과일의숲 파주직영점). Mango bingsu is the most popular thing on hot days like these, so I went in with high hopes, and the fruit was fresh and it was a great place for a summer dessert.

Inside Fruit Forest Paju: atmosphere and seating
The interior is bright, with sunlight pouring in through large windows. The tables are nicely spaced and there are sofa seats too. Fruit such as mango, melon and watermelon is displayed all around the store.

The big windows let in plenty of sun, so the space felt open. The tables are spaced generously, which made it easy to chat with my companion, and the bright, clean mood made it a nice place to take a break.

One side has plush sofa seats too, so it suits family or friends who want to enjoy dessert at a relaxed pace.

Above all, fresh mangoes, melons, watermelons and more were on display all over the store, which really gave it the feel of a fruit specialty dessert café. It naturally raised my expectations for the fruit in the bingsu and juice.

The signature item is the fresh mango snow bingsu.

What we ordered with Mom: fresh mango snow bingsu (2–3 people), ₩28,000
We ordered the fresh mango snow bingsu (2–3 people) for ₩28,000. I was torn between it and the peach snow bingsu, but seeing the mangoes on display settled it for mango.

Mom wanted to try the peach snow bingsu too, but the moment she saw the fresh mangoes on display, her eyes went straight to them, so we chose the fresh mango snow bingsu. Mango bingsu really is a must in summer.
How did the fresh mango snow bingsu taste?
The fresh mango snow bingsu came with big-cut fresh mango nearly covering the whole bingsu, ice cream on top, and mango sauce served separately. The portion was plenty for 2–3 people.

The first thing I noticed when the bingsu arrived was the generous heap of fresh mango.🥭🥭 The big chunks nearly filled the bowl, so it caught my eye right away.

The mango was sweet and juicy, and the snow ice melted softly in my mouth, blending nicely with the mango.

Eating it together with the ice cream on top made it even richer and sweeter, and the amount was enough for 2–3 people to share.
How to use the separate mango sauce

Mango sauce also came on the side, so we could drizzle on more to taste. Even after the mango pieces were gone, adding the sauce kept the strong mango flavor going to the very last bite, which made it an even more satisfying dessert.
