If you're looking for a healthy Korean course in Dangha-dong
Lotus Leaf Rice and Noodles Damil (연잎밥과 국수 다밀) is a Korean restaurant in Dangha-dong famous for its lotus leaf rice set course. I went with my baby (Geondori) because I wanted something healthy and Korean. I'd been eating nothing but strong, spicy food lately, so I was craving a hearty Korean meal for once. While searching for Korean restaurants in Dangha-dong, I found that the lotus leaf rice course was famous, so I visited.

Lotus Leaf Rice and Noodles Damil

Where is Damil, and how is the parking?
Damil is on the 2nd floor of a building on Wondang-daero, close to Wanjeong Station, and if you come by car they support 1 hour of free parking at the public lot behind the restaurant! The moment I arrived out front, I could feel the popular-restaurant vibe. I heard it was even featured on MBC's Live Tonight (생방송 오늘저녁), so I was even more excited.
📍 It's close to Wanjeong Station, so I thought it would be easy to visit for anyone looking for a Korean restaurant near Wanjeong Station.

Floor seats and high chairs: good for a family meal?
Besides regular tables, the restaurant has a floor-seating area, and they had high chairs and aprons ready too. The place was clean overall, with a warm Korean-restaurant feel. It looked great for a family meal or for bringing your parents.

Ordering the Special B course
To really feast, we ordered Damil's Special B course. They say every dish is cooked after you order, with no processed or frozen food.

Starter: Gapyeong royal pine nut porridge and sprouted ginseng salad
The first round of the Special B course came with sprouted ginseng, salad, and Gapyeong royal pine nut porridge (잣죽). It felt like the course was properly starting, and I loved that.

The royal pine nut porridge was nutty and smooth, gently opening up the appetite,

and the sprouted ginseng gave off a subtle aroma the more I chewed, so it felt like a truly healthy meal. After the starters, the tofu steak, royal japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and lotus leaf sweet and sour pork came out one after another.

Tofu steak, royal japchae, lotus leaf sweet and sour pork
The tofu steak was soft and mild, easy to eat without feeling heavy,

and the royal japchae wasn't salty either, so I kept reaching for more.

Personally, the best thing in Damil's course was the lotus leaf sweet and sour pork (연잎탕수육) 💗 The batter was thin and crispy, the meat was tender, and the sauce went with it perfectly.

Main: lotus leaf rice, 6 side dishes, grilled LA galbi, tofu hot pot
The main course of the Special B set was a full spread: lotus leaf rice, 6 neat Korean side dishes, grilled LA galbi, and tofu hot pot. Officially a Korean restaurant worth visiting in Dangha-dong!

Every side dish was clean-tasting and not strong at all. Eaten with the lotus leaf rice, the combination was really good.

Today's star: lotus leaf rice
The star of the day 💗 A faint fragrance spread the moment I opened the lotus leaf. The rice was chewy and tasty even without side dishes. If you like healthy Korean food, you'll be satisfied with this one. After eating it, I understood why it's so well known as a Korean restaurant near Wanjeong Station!
Tofu hot pot packed with ingredients
The tofu hot pot (두부전골) was really generous: tofu, mushrooms, bulgogi, bean sprouts, and even shrimp. The broth was clean-tasting and went well with the lotus leaf rice, and it stayed warm to the very end.

Dessert: fried sweet pumpkin and shrimp
After the meal, fried sweet pumpkin and fried shrimp came out as the finishing course. Everything arriving in order from start to finish like a real course made the meal even more satisfying.
Is Damil good for bringing your parents?
With the Special B course you get everything in sequence, from porridge to starters, mains, and dessert, so the meal felt really full and worthwhile. You could feel the care in every dish, and overall it was healthy Korean food that's easy to eat without feeling heavy.
It naturally made me think it would be good with my parents too. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant in Dangha-dong, or tidy Korean food near Wanjeong Station, it's worth a visit. Next time I plan to come back with my parents 💗
