How far is Euljiro Yeontan Gui from Gajeong Station, and where do you park?

Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch is a 6-minute walk from Exit 6 of Gajeong Station, right in the Luone City food alley, so it's easy to get to and there are plenty of nearby spots for a second round if you're meeting friends. If you're driving, you can park in the 3M Tower building where the restaurant is located — the parking area is spacious and parking is supported for up to 3 hours, so you can eat without rushing.

Group tables and the tent-bar terrace at Euljiro Yeontan Gui

The restaurant is spacious with lots of tables, including group seating that's great for larger parties, and there's a terrace styled like a pojangmacha (street tent bar) if you're into that vibe. There's storage space under the chairs for your bags so you don't have to worry about them soaking up the grill smell, and since a lot of families eat here, they also have kids' chairs.

Tablet ordering by the 100g: pork belly from 6,400 won

You order through the tablet set up at each table, and since everything is priced affordably by the 100g portion, it was fun picking out this and that. Pork belly starts at a mere ₩6,400, and you can try pork, beef, scallops, abalone, sea squirt and more seafood all in one place, ordered to your taste. The prices are low enough not to feel like a big commitment, so if you like ordering a bunch of things like I do, there's nowhere better for pork belly in Gajeong-dong.

Pork belly, pork neck and raw galmaegisal over briquette flames

Before the meat even goes on, Euljiro Yeontan Gui brings out an old-school charcoal briquette full of nostalgic vibes! Meat grilled gently over charcoal is a different kind of treat — the heat is adjustable, and there's something about the charcoal atmosphere that I really enjoyed.

I ordered one serving each of pork belly, pork neck, and raw galmaegisal, and the side dishes came out as soon as I ordered. The basic spread was set with icy julienned radish, lightly dressed lettuce salad, seasoned bean sprouts, kimchi, garlic, and wrap greens.

What's on the self-serve bar: wasabi, pineapple and more

Any side dishes you're short on can be easily grabbed from the self-serve bar.

There's even wasabi and pineapple that aren't part of the standard set, plus various sauces you can top up on — this would be especially handy for company dinners or group get-togethers.

Pork belly, pork neck, galmaegisal, and finally garlic galmaegisal! I was a little worried the meat quality might be lacking given the low prices, but there was no such issue at all — no off smell, and it was delicious.

Soju in an ice basket and the new omija (five-flavor berry) drink

You can't have pork belly in Gajeong-dong without drinks~ Euljiro Yeontan Gui fills a basket with ice to keep your soju cold. It stayed refreshingly cold instead of going lukewarm, which I loved. Nice touch from the owner 👍🏻

Soju served in a basket filled with ice

With the soju poured, I wrapped the well-grilled meat in lettuce, and also tried it simply dipped in salt, sampling a bit of everything.

This was my first time trying their new omija (schisandra berry) drink — it was refreshing and had a stronger omija flavor than I expected, so it was good. But after more than a bottle it got a little much, so I ended up switching back to soju. ^^

Doenjang stew with rice, plus rice toasted on the briquettes

Finally, my must-have side with meat — doenjang (soybean paste) stew with a bowl of rice — filled me up nicely.

Later I set it on top of the charcoal and enjoyed it as sulbap (drinking rice). With plenty of zucchini, tofu, and other fillings and a wallet-friendly price, it's a dish I always order.

Tired of pork? Adding seafood from the live tank

Once you're pretty full, you start to get a bit sick of meat, right? That's when I order my favorite seafood as an add-on — since it's cut fresh right out of the tank, you can enjoy it without any fishy taste, totally fresh.

Seafood lovers and meat lovers alike will be happy at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch! If you're looking for a great spot in Gajeong-dong, I recommend it 🤗
