Jinjja Mulhoe at Gueupbaetteo, Yeongjong: the basics
Jinjja Mulhoe (진짜물회) is a mulhoe restaurant on the second floor (units 201 and 202) of 33 Gueup-ro, Yeongjong-gu, Incheon. It's open 10:30-21:00 and has parking.

It's been so hot lately that I've completely lost my appetite... I was craving cold mulhoe, so off to Yeongjong I went. The tolls to Yeongjong got cheaper recently, so going often isn't a burden anymore. While searching for a mulhoe place in Yeongjong, I found Jinjja Mulhoe, famous at Gueupbaetteo. The name literally means "real mulhoe," and you can feel the owner's pride in it.
Does Jinjja Mulhoe have parking, and are dogs allowed?
There are parking lots both below the building and behind it, so parking is fully covered. Dogs are allowed too, so if you're looking for a dog-friendly place at Gueupbaetteo, put this on your list. (I'd still recommend checking once more before you go.)

The restaurant is on the second floor, and you take the stairs, which was no problem.

A sign I spotted before going in. I used to be a fan of EXO's Sehun, and apparently Sehun's dad has visited too, haha. I thought that was neat, so I took a photo.
Inside Jinjja Mulhoe: seating and sea views

Inside, the space is wide open, which looked cool and refreshing. It's tidy and clean, so it seems good for a family meal or a date at Gueupbaetteo.

There are high chairs for little ones and a self-serve bar, so if you run out of side dishes, just help yourself there.

Outside the window there's the sea, plus green trees mixed in. The view was perfect! Tasty mulhoe and a great view 👍👍

Jinjja Mulhoe stamp card and Naver review event
Jinjja Mulhoe has a mobile stamp program. Collect 10 and they give you a seafood pajeon, so keep that in mind! If you come with family, you could fill it up quickly.

They also give you 2 ice creams if you write a Naver review, so do join in.
What is the free abalone porridge like?

This is the abalone porridge served free when you order mulhoe at Jinjja Mulhoe. It's made with plenty of abalone innards, blended in, so it's super rich and nutty ‼️ The porridge is a star too.
Two portions of mulhoe, served in separate single bowls

Mulhoe usually comes in one shared bowl, but at Jinjja Mulhoe the two portions came in separate single-serving bowls, so it's a neater way to eat. The bowls oddly have handles, which made me curious, and the owner kindly explained. The handles are there so hands don't end up inside the bowl when serving. A hygiene reason, so even better 👍

The mulhoe comes with somyeon (thin wheat noodles). It has cucumber, sprouts, abalone, sea squirt, sea cucumber and various kinds of raw fish. Looks great, right? It looks refreshing just from the sight of it.

Sea squirt, sea cucumber, sea urchin, flying fish roe and more, all generously piled in ‼️

A big ladle comes with it, which makes mixing easy. You scoop up the shaved ice and vegetables underneath and mix it all well.

The somyeon at Jinjja Mulhoe comes as 2 portions per person.

The sauce is sweet and tangy and delicious, and with the shaved ice in it, it's so cooling... mulhoe really is the thing for summer. Eating it while looking at the sea made it taste even better.
Free fried shrimp when you book on Naver
I booked on Naver in advance, and they gave me fried shrimp as a free service. Freshly fried shrimp... the best ‼️

Everyone, please book on Naver and get that fried shrimp service.

Jinjja Mulhoe with a dog: final verdict
My little cuties sat so calmly and quietly at Jinjja Mulhoe... The rainy season had just ended and it was really hot, but the mulhoe blew the heat away. There are many mulhoe places at Gueupbaetteo, but Jinjja Mulhoe is the real deal, so everyone should visit.

The ice creams given for the review event came in lots of varieties! If you want cold mulhoe on a hot summer day, visit Jinjja Mulhoe in Yeongjong.
