Songdo sashimi restaurant for solo drinks: Songdo Jonghap Eosijang
In short
Songdo Jonghap Eosijang is a sashimi restaurant in Yeonsu, Incheon, serving live fish sashimi and seafood meals. On an Incheon trip, I had a small platter of flounder, mullet, and salmon sashimi for 39,000 won with seafood ramen for 7,500 won and Baekseju. Verdict: a satisfying, good-value spot for sashimi and a drink.

Since I was in Incheon for a trip and suddenly had a craving for live fish sashimi, I made an impromptu visit to Songdo Jonghap Eosijang, a Songdo favorite. It is in a commercial area near the high-rise apartment complexes of this international city, so getting there was very easy.
Inside Songdo Jonghap Eosijang

Inside Songdo Jonghap Eosijang, a Songdo sashimi restaurant. There are plenty of four-person tables. It is a good place for nearby residents and people from Incheon to visit for a family meal, group dinner, date, or a solo drink after work. Delivery and takeout are available too, so you can grab a plate of sashimi after work and have a light drink at home.

This is a local favorite that brings in fresh live fish from Yeonan Pier every morning and slices it into sashimi to order. With its quick turnover, you can have fresh stock delivered that day straight as sashimi.
I had booked my accommodation in Okryeon-dong, but I came all the way here on purpose to have properly high-quality live fish sashimi haha. The seafood places near my accommodation were way too expensiveㅠ Let’s knock back a light bottle of soju.
Ordering assorted sashimi and Baekseju

Here is the menu at Songdo Jonghap Eosijang. The individual sashimi and assorted-sashimi options, along with their prices by size, are genuinely attractive compared with other places. Naturally, there are seafood dishes, sushi, and meal options too. I ordered the small flounder + mullet + salmon platter (₩39,000).

I do not like the green-bottle diluted soju, so of course I paid ₩2,000 more and ordered Baekseju haha.
A generous spread of banchan arrived quickly

First, the banchan (Korean side dishes) were set out quickly: wrap vegetables, aged kimchi, cabbage salad, and more.
Steamed egg, refreshing seaweed soup, grilled saury, sushi rice, and even macaroni—good stuff. I came for dinner and a solo drink while traveling alone, and it had been a while since I had started a solo drinking session this generous and luxurious haha.

The assorted sashimi I ordered arrived right after that. Now, let’s dig in properly—go go.
How fresh was the made-to-order live fish sashimi?

Even though I ordered the small size, look at how much comes out. Two rows of flounder, plus one row each of salmon and barley mullet. Since it was freshly sliced to order rather than prepared in advance, it was absolutely gleaming with freshness. I have mostly been eating aged sashimi lately, but isn’t sashimi at its best when it has just been sliced?

Flounder and mullet are technically in season in spring, but you just eat what you feel like, right? Haha. If I come back, I plan to experience this place’s quality again with autumn gizzard shad and winter yellowtail. The subtle sweetness, nuttiness, and texture as I chewed were very satisfying, for real.

For these, just dip them in oily makjang (savory fermented soybean dipping sauce) and eat them with aged kimchi—the flavor is even more intense. Then take a sip of Baekseju, and that is real indulgence, yep. I also put flounder on the sushi rice they served and had a bite as sushi.
When salmon is included, they also provide salmon sauce, onion, and sprouts that go well with it.

Seafood ramen ordered as a meal
I also ordered the ₩7,500 seafood ramen as a meal. The rich seafood flavor in the broth was good. Hey, I ordered this to cure a hangover, but this broth might make me order another bottle...
There were four shrimp inside and loads of mussels, so the broth definitely felt even more deeply flavored. It naturally took care of dinner, a carb refill, and a hangover cure all at once. This would be a good order instead of spicy fish stew, too.
