Songdo bakery, late evening with a kid: kkamang-i, choco rusk, Tomoru
In short
Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a bakery in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, on the first floor of Acria Building 2 across from the Coast Guard headquarters, where a master baker is said to bake with organic flour every morning. On a late-evening visit with a child, the writer picked up kkamang-i, basil tomato, mont blanc, choco rusk, pollock roe salt bread and a fresh donut (₩2,500 to ₩5,800 each), and the child ate most of them on the way home. Not much bread is left late in the day, but the kkamang-i and basil tomato baguette alone make Tomoru Bakery a Songdo Central Park bakery worth returning to.

I went on a bakery tour to Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리), a bakery near Incheon's Central Park in Songdo.

Where is Tomoru Bakery, and where do you park?
Tomoru Bakery is at 23 Haedoji-ro 120beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, on the ground floor of Acria Building 2, right in front of the Coast Guard HQ. You can park in the Acria Building 2 underground garage for 4 hours. It's open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and takeout is available.
It's a well-known Songdo bakery, and it sits on a corner of the building, so it's easy to find. The underground garage had plenty of room, so parking was comfortable.

What ingredients does Tomoru Bakery use?
They say a Korean master baker (제과 기능장, a government-certified master of baking) kneads and bakes the bread by hand every morning. Reportedly they use organic flour, natural sourdough starter, AOP-certified butter and antibiotic-free fertilized eggs, with no artificial additives at all.
Maybe it's because they're generous with good ingredients, but the deep flavor of the bread lingers in your mouth: neat on the outside, hearty on the inside.

They say every bread is made with domestically produced Maxsun organic flour, so it feels healthy and filling. Since it's organic flour, it's also a nice snack to give kids.

Tomoru Bakery's atmosphere and the breads on offer
The inside has soft lighting and a warm feel, and there's a baking area at the back, so bread keeps coming out of the oven.

There's a huge variety: premium cakes that change with the season, plus bagels, ciabatta, baguettes, scones, donuts, twisted donuts (kkwabaegi) and salt bread, so just browsing is fun. But since I went late in the evening, there wasn't much bread left 🥲

The refrigerated section keeps chilled items fresh, like sandwiches, sando (sandwiches) and mammoth bread. The sandwiches are packed full, so they work as a meal replacement too.

Lighter bites like butter scones, chocolate scones, Basque cheesecake, egg tarts and pies are neatly displayed too ~~ The range of baked goods is really wide: baguettes, salt bread, ciabatta, croissants, mont blanc and more.

They also prepare a variety of cakes that change with seasonal fruit. They look great, so they'd be good for anniversaries or gifts.

How much is coffee at Tomoru Bakery?
An Americano at Tomoru Bakery starts at ₩3,500. These days coffee at a café is basically ₩5,000, but here the lattes, ades, lemon tea, grapefruit tea, milk and other drinks are all priced very kindly.

Tomoru Bakery's rice-flour bakery tour event
Tomoru Bakery is also running a rice-flour bakery tour event (가루쌀 빵지순례, a stamp-style trail of bakeries). Bread made with rice flour is chewier for baked bread and gentler for pastries, so it's good for kids and adults alike. Take note if you're looking for a rice-flour bakery tour-!

On a cool, nice day, you could also enjoy a little bread on the outdoor terrace right in front of the shop ~~
The breads I picked up late in the evening, and prices
That day I picked six items at Tomoru Bakery: mont blanc, kkamang-i, basil tomato, choco rusk, pollock roe salt bread and a fresh donut. Prices range from the ₩2,000s to the ₩5,000s.
- Mont blanc ₩5,800
- Kkamang-i ₩5,800
- Basil tomato ₩5,800
- Choco rusk ₩5,700
- Pollock roe salt bread ₩3,500
- Fresh donut ₩2,500

My kid said it was so delicious and ate away on the way here, so this is all that's left 🤣 We picked a mix, from Tomoru's signature items to what the kid likes. Tomoru Bakery is where you get healthy, tasty bread at kind prices.
They say the bread is aged at low temperature for at least 18 hours and baked fresh every morning, and maybe that's why it's so chewy and nutty.

How do Tomoru's signature kkamang-i and basil tomato taste?
Our pick, as always, is Tomoru's signature kkamang-i and basil tomato baguette!! Kkamang-i is a squid ink bread topped with cream cheese and walnuts, and the chewiness kept my hand reaching for more.
The basil tomato baguette is a combo of basil, tomato, olive, camembert cheese and mayonnaise, so it can't help but succeed. I wonder if there's another basil tomato bread this healthy and tasty.

Good ingredients plus real care make Tomoru Bakery a bakery that works as a meal replacement too. If you're near Songdo Central Park or Incheon National University Station and want a healthy, tasty bakery where a Korean master baker bakes every morning, I recommend Tomoru Bakery.
