Songnim Bok Jangeo (송림복장어) Siheung Baegot Direct Branch has an unlimited eel and meat deal that is a real bargain, so it's where I run without thinking twice whenever I want eel in Siheung. The Baegot branch is pretty busy in the evening but relaxed during the day, so if you want to take it easy, go at midday and eat slowly and quietly!

Let's eat eel and get our energy back!! Summer makes me crave it even more, so off we went. We were originally going to get barbecue, but at Songnim Bok Jangeo you get meat and eel, two birds with one stone, so my friend and I decided on here. We're so in sync, it's a perfect pairing, high five!!

Parking and how to get to Songnim Bok Jangeo Baegot

The Baegot Direct Branch is at 43-7 Seouldaehak-ro 278beon-gil, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, on the 1st floor. You can park in the building's basement, and they give you 2 hours of free parking, so no worries. I went at midday and there were plenty of spaces, so I parked easily and headed up!!

Parking is super important. In this summer heat there's no way I'd go somewhere without it. And in Gyeonggi you need a car, so I always look for places with easy parking. The catch: whoever's driving can't drink.

Can't find the 1st-floor entrance? Walk once around the building

The restaurant is on the building's 1st floor, but I didn't spot it at first and ended up walking a lap, hahaha. I get lost every single time. If that happens, don't search inside, just walk around the building once and you'll find it!

It seems some people also get takeout here (we ate our fill on the spot and didn't take any home).

Songnim Bok Jangeo Baegot unlimited buffet prices and menu

The unlimited buffet at the Baegot branch is ₩29,900 for adults and ₩14,000 for children, plus a table setting fee of ₩3,000 per person (children excluded). You can eat unlimited whole pork belly, duck neck and eel!!

• Makguksu (buckwheat noodles, soup or spicy mixed) ₩9,000
• Spicy ramen ₩5,000

That's for anyone who wants to add sides. But it's an all-you-can-eat place, so even if you stick to the basics there's way more than enough to eat!!

The buffet time limit is 2 hours, and leftover food can't be taken home!!

Free bokbunja on the house

The owner here is truly kind: he always gives bokbunja (Korean black raspberry wine) as a freebie. Eel and bokbunja together are a dream. With a freebie like this every time, how could I not come back? Anyone who wants bokbunja, gather round, over here.

Self-bar eel and side dishes: the eel sauce is a must

The self-bar at the Baegot branch is stocked with plenty of fresh eel, so just grab as much as you like. Just because it's unlimited doesn't mean the quality is poor, it's seriously fresh and I kept eating it!!

You can also take onions, kimchi and lettuce. And be sure to grab the eel sauce for dipping your eel. I'm someone who must have eel sauce, so I got it first thing when I arrived.

Grilling eel and meat together: how did it taste?

At Songnim Bok Jangeo Baegot, the staff first set up the side dishes, eel and meat for you!! A really neat setup.

Shall we dig in?? I put the eel and meat on all at once. Starving me started chowing down, hahaha. I was so hungry I meant to grill one at a time, but ended up grilling everything together and gobbling it up. Gobbling it up is just so delicious, you know?

How to grill eel: skin side down first
