Chat Baker (챗 베이커) is a handmade bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong, where the bread is baked fresh by hand every day 🤎 Now that the weather is getting nicer, I felt like going on a long drive and spending a relaxed day eating good food. 🪽 So this time I drove out to Gongdo in Anseong and visited Chat Baker! 🥐

Chat Baker is close to Anseong Farmland, so it works well as a stop after the farm. It's also a pretty big, stylish 500-pyeong bakery café, so it looked fine for spending time alone, or for a date or a get-together.

There is plenty of parking inside 512 Square, so it's easy to come by car. 🚘 The building with the entrance to this 500-pyeong bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong also has a golf wear shop, so it's perfect for some shopping and a cup of coffee!!

There's a wide variety of breads and cakes. They have handmade cookies too, so this bread lover's eyes were spinning.. 👀

The 10,000-layer croissant from TV: one of the last two

I recently saw Pak Se-ri and Chef Yun Nam-no eating the 10,000-layer croissant (만겹크로와상) on TV and really wanted to try it. Chat Baker happened to have it, so I put one in my basket right away.

🥐 Only 2 were left, so I grabbed one the moment I saw it! haha

Chat Baker 1st floor: atmosphere and drinks

The 1st floor is full of sunlight with a high ceiling, and the interior is clean and sophisticated. Such a good vibe.. ! 🫧 ✨

Here come the bakery items and coffee I ordered. What is going on with that presentation, haha! I ordered a vanilla bean latte and an Oatly almond latte, and the Oatly almond latte was seriously delicious~~ >.<

The windows are designed to look like rain is falling, and the mood is so good, isn't it?

Is the Chat Baker 2nd floor quiet?

Head up to the 2nd floor and you get a space with a totally different feel from the 1st floor~ It's a big Anseong café, no doubt about it. It's so spacious that even with lots of people it doesn't feel very noisy. Being able to sit with lots of room is a plus too.

I couldn't decide between eating on the 1st or 2nd floor, and ended up going up to the 2nd. It also has a high ceiling and fewer people, so it's nice for a quiet time.

How do Chat Baker's chocolate bread and Gongju chestnut bread taste?

I picked up the chocolate bread because my blood sugar was low. It tasted even better than it looked, and the more I chewed, the better it got, which surprised me. Chocolate is love.. 🤎

I got the Gongju chestnut bread (공주 밤식빵, a loaf studded with chestnuts) because it's a recommended item,, 🌰 It has tons of chestnuts, and they were sweet too, so I really enjoyed it. No wonder it's recommended.

The story behind the Chat Baker name and its LP corner

The café shares its name with the American jazz trumpeter Chet Baker, and with LPs displayed on one side like this, it has even more character. It was a nice spot for a little healing break too.

The bread is baked by hand in the shop every day, so choosing bread as soon as you walk in is half the fun~ There's also a review event for the salt bread, so everyone should join in. It's a top salt bread spot in Anseong :)
