Kalguksu restaurant in Siheung: octopus set to feed 3 adults, Pyeongi
In short
Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu Siheung Premium Outlets (평이담백 뼈칼국수) is a bone kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant in Unit 1116 of Taste Village, the food court at Siheung Premium Outlets in Siheung, Gyeonggi. On a weekend family outing the blogger ordered the new octopus stir-fry set, a mountain of spicy octopus stir-fry plus 2 bowls of razor clam kalguksu, for the ₩40,000 range; it filled 3 adults, and the clams overflowed their shell-shaped bowls. Pyeongi Dambaek is a good Siheung Premium Outlets pick for adults who like spice and kids eating together.

Where to eat as a family after shopping at Siheung Premium Outlets?
In Taste Village, the food court at Siheung Premium Outlets, I picked Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu (kalguksu means knife-cut noodle soup) as a place the whole family would like. For a weekend family outing, nothing beats an outlet, right? I hear Siheung Premium Outlets starts a Super Golden Week event this weekend, with lots of brands running sales. So after the fun of shopping, let me introduce a restaurant in Taste Village that the whole family will enjoy.

Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu Siheung Premium Outlets

Pyeongi Dambaek location and opening hours
Pyeongi Dambaek is in Unit 1116 of Taste Village, the food court at Siheung Premium Outlets, and it's open daily from 10:30 to 21:00 (last order 20:30). It's a place that fills the whole family up with a hearty meal. I went on the recommendation of a close friend who comes often with her kids.
- Hours: daily 10:30–21:00
- Last order: 20:30

There are lots of restaurants inside Taste Village, but it's actually hard to find a menu that's good to enjoy with kids. Pyeongi Dambaek has signature dishes made with pork neck bones boiled fresh every day and house-made broth, bone kalguksu and bone soup rice, so you can get a filling meal here.

Pyeongi Dambaek menu: from bone kalguksu to the new clam kalguksu
The signature menu item is bone kalguksu, and I hear you can also get it spicy. Besides the broth kalguksu, there's bibim kalguksu (spicy mixed noodles), perilla oil kalguksu and bone soup rice, so you can order to your taste. A new clam kalguksu has come out, and it seems perfect for the suddenly chilly weather these days. Every dish can be ordered on its own, or as a meat dumpling set, spicy chili chive pancake set or suyuk (boiled pork) set.

As sides, there are the spicy chili chive pancake and dumplings, plus a mountain of spicy octopus stir-fry and tender pork jowl suyuk.

What's in the octopus stir-fry set, and how much is it?
The octopus stir-fry set pairs a mountain of spicy octopus stir-fry with 2 clam kalguksu, for a reasonable price in the ₩40,000 range. I was wondering what to order when I heard a new set had come out that's perfect for those of us who love spicy food. One look at it and I couldn't not eat it, so I ordered right away.

The clams in the kalguksu are said to be harvested from the clean waters off Gomso Bay.

It's also said to be a Siheung Premium Outlets restaurant that appeared on the TV show Tasty Guys (Matitneun Nyeoseokdeul) and got its seal of approval.

How many people can the octopus stir-fry set feed?
The octopus stir-fry set is generous enough that even 3 adults can eat their fill. Since sets come with a big discount, I figured the octopus stir-fry and kalguksu portions would be a bit smaller, but the amount was enormous. Is this for real, haha. And in the middle of it all, the mountain of dongjuk clams (a small, round clam) just steals the show.

Banchan: seasoned chili peppers in soybean paste and napa cabbage kimchi
The banchan (side dishes) at Pyeongi Dambaek are seasoned chili peppers in soybean paste and napa cabbage kimchi. I love the chili peppers in soybean paste, so I was really happy to see them, and the kimchi, with a savory seasoning that's impressive as you'd expect from a kalguksu place, was really good with the noodles.

How did the mountain of spicy octopus stir-fry taste?
As the bright red look suggests, the spicy octopus stir-fry had a really good kick. Spicy, sweet and salty, it properly stimulated my appetite. Above all, it wasn't tiny octopus but plump ones, so you really get to enjoy the chew.

Mixing kalguksu noodles into the octopus stir-fry sauce
As the menu description says, I put the kalguksu noodles into the octopus stir-fry sauce and mixed them. Before mixing, I kept singing that it was definitely a bowl-of-rice situation, but after one bite of noodles that thought went right out of my head. The spicy sauce soaks between the noodles and lifts the savory flavor of the kalguksu even more, and the wonderful sauce went great with the noodles too.

Clam kalguksu: how many clams, and how's the broth?
The clam kalguksu is a new menu item with a mountain of dongjuk clams that steals the show. They're the same clams I worked hard to dig up while clam-hunting on the tidal flats last Chuseok (Korean harvest holiday), so I was oddly happy to see them, haha. Every single clam was plump, too.

I slurped the broth first, and the clear, refreshing clam broth spread through my whole body. With spicy cheongyang chili peppers and pepper in it, it was just right for our tastes. The kalguksu noodles, made fresh every day, were springy and delicious too.

Can you see how many clams there were, no matter how much I ate? However many I shelled, more turned up when I stirred the bottom, haha. It took a while, but I removed all the shells and treated myself to mouthfuls of clams. There was nothing gritty, and the clams were chewy yet savory and really good.

Next to the brass bowl they gave me one more big bowl, and I thought it was a side plate, but it was for the piles of clam shells. The shell bowl overflowed, that's how generous the portion was.
Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu: how to order as a family
If you're looking for a Siheung Premium Outlets restaurant this weekend, how about bone kalguksu for the kids at Pyeongi Dambaek, and for the adults the spicy octopus stir-fry and refreshing clam kalguksu?! It'll be a hearty meal that satisfies both adults and kids.
