Gangnam Station burger shop: Greed Burger solo lunch at Bass Burger
In short
Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town is a handmade burger restaurant behind Exit 5 of Gangnam Station in Seocho, Seoul, with kiosk ordering and Jamesgam (제임스감), a free unlimited-refill potato chip self-bar. For a solo lunch, the writer ordered the Greed Burger (탐욕버거), the new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar and a 4.7% Bass Lager craft beer, and found the burger generous, the cheese side not spicy and the lager refreshing. Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town is worth returning to for a filling solo lunch near Gangnam Station.

A handmade burger spot for eating alone near Gangnam Station: Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town
Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town is a handmade burger restaurant one block behind Gangnam Station Exit 5. Today I'm introducing a handmade burger place I found that's perfect for eating solo near Gangnam Station.
The area around Gangnam Station has huge foot traffic and restaurants everywhere, but finding a good place where you can comfortably eat alone was harder than I expected, haha. Then I found Bass Burger, and I liked it from the clean, stylish exterior. The mood was great for a solo brunch, too.

What are the atmosphere and seating like at Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town?
The restaurant is much bigger inside than it looks from outside, with tables for 2 and 4 plus tables that can be pushed together, so it works whatever your group size. Stepping in, the whole place felt clean and hip at the same time.
The table setup is flexible enough that party size hardly matters. (It also looks like a good spot for a beer in the evening.)

Ordering at Bass Burger is by kiosk
You order at Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town through kiosks at the front of the store or at each table, which makes it easy. (Below is the full menu.)

What I picked for a Gangnam Station lunch: Greed Burger and Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar
This day at Bass Burger I chose the 'Greed Burger' (탐욕버거) as my main and the 'Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar' as a side. I usually go for the 'Hawaiian', but it was a busy day 🤣 so I picked the Greed Burger for a really filling meal. (See the kiosk image slides for reference~)

What's the unlimited potato chip self-bar, 'Jamesgam', like?
On one side of Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town there's a free, unlimited-refill potato chip corner called 'Jamesgam' (제임스감). It's the very reason this branch is so popular.
While waiting for the handmade burger to be cooked, I tried the service table: big containers piled high with freshly fried, crispy potato chips, and the self-bar was kept hygienic so you can take as much as you like without feeling awkward.

Jamesgam was less oily than I expected, so it wasn't greasy at all. Clean and crispy, I kept reaching for more, and I'd emptied a whole plate before the burger even arrived 🤣 (I'd ordered a lot of food.. so I held back from refilling, lol)

How does the Bass Burger Greed Burger taste, and how big is it?
The Greed Burger is a hearty burger with patty, lettuce and tomato stacked between the buns, and it was seriously filling as a meal. The main I'd been waiting for finally arrived!

Can you see the greed, just like the name says!? 😆 Between soft, fluffy buns, a carefully grilled patty, fresh green lettuce and red tomato are stacked layer upon layer! Just looking at that generous stack felt satisfying.

The new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar: is it spicy?
Bass Burger's new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar isn't very spicy, so it's an easy side to eat. If you love mozzarella like I do, I definitely recommend it.
One bite through the crispy coating and the savory, chewy mozzarella inside is totally irresistible! It was so good I wanted to put it in the burger as an extra patty, haha.

Bass Lager, a craft beer that goes with handmade burgers
Bass Burger also has a craft beer lineup, and this day I drank the 'Bass Lager 4.7%' with the Greed Burger. It went so well with the burger that it felt like it washed away the summer heat too.
Gentle malty richness and cool carbonation make it easy to drink, and it brings out the flavor of the burger even more. A lunchtime beer at Gangnam Station — I sincerely recommend it. It melts the stress away, haha.

Why I want to go back to Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town
If you're looking for a place to eat alone near Gangnam Station, Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town turns tables quickly, so even when it's full the wait isn't long, and there are plenty of tables for 1–2 people. Thanks to the hip vibe, it's also a nice spot for a casual beer with friends or a partner in the evening.
From the crispy unlimited chips 'Jamesgam' to the juicy handmade burger and the refreshing craft beer! I was happy with both the food and the mood, so it's a place I'd go back to whenever I'm thinking about eating around Gangnam Station.
